    Would agree I don't think we underestimated them at all. It was simply a game where we started off playing too slowly and maybe a bit anxiously and our limited attacking options saw us struggle to break them down over the course of the 90 minutes which we all had seen as a distinct possibility for quite some time due to the boards failure to get in the attacking players we knew we needed from the beginning of this window.

    I would start idah tomorrow night and pump balls into box and hope he get on end them. Can see them setting up same way and play on counter and aim for corners and free kicks.
    Not sure how shin do against 10 men behind ball. Is he even good in air

    Apparently yes, a bit like Kyogo he is surprisingly good in the air. I think his energy is also valuable to us, he will be desperate to play well at this point.
    I agree that Idah does give us more options and tbh we dont have many attacking options to begin with especially if Meada looks like hes struggling. I expect a lot of crosses from wide positions and if they sit back that could play to our advantage. We need a good performance from everyone and not to concede early, they have no advantage on paper and we can control the match throughout if we are strategic enough. We will manage the tie and get through.

    Any win will do, we need to be right up for it because they will be buzzing for it but hopefully then also feel a bit of pressure.

    The longer it goes 0-0 the more confident they will get, quick start and early goal hopefully for us.

    Given the limited options we have, I’d probably start Idah (ugh) as he’s the most experienced playing the system and at least in theory adds some physicality.

    I think it’ll be tight and in a scenario where we need a goal late on to decide it, I’d prefer Forrest was coming on instead of Yang, which means I’d have to start Yang.

    Having said that, I expect what Rodgers will go with is Maeda-Idah-Forrest from the outset.

    Some lack of options we have.

    I wonder what our players will be eating while over there?

    Hopefully we’ve taken some of those microwave meals or Pot Noodle’s off the plane or something back to the hotel.

    I’ve had a look at their cuisine there and,without being disrespectful,Jesus Christ….it looks utterly hideous.

    For me id start Engels and move nygren to RW.. play Maeda central and Yang off the left. Rest team picks itself.. idah, shin, Forrest and mccowan who we probably are looking towards if things are going badly in the last quarter

    Nepalese food is great though. Might be worth stopping there for a takeaway.
    Honestly they really do great curries. I take it Khazaky culture is a bit mad considering they are like russian arabs but not really, more like indonesians who like to drink. Winters are brutal and summers are scorching, they are adapted, they kind of remind me of the desert people from final fantasy ten where as the portugese for example are more or less guardo guardo's, ie technically gifted and speed is their strength.

    He put in a shift on Saturday, would rather bring him on at 60 mins.

    Engles, CalMac and Hatate worked well as a midfield unit in the CL last year. I might be misremembering, but I think Jamesey has scored some big goals in CL qualifiers over the years. Just got a feeling he'll be the hero tomorrow night.
