If we sign him now, for near the fee they wanted weeks ago, I’ll be happy about actually getting him but I’ll be so * angry about how we have.

Been dead for weeks this, vocal anger at the board who were present to get the stick last night. And then this comes back out more willing to negotiate. * weasels man

Read that go ahead eagles want £5m for breum,at the minute but if we qualify for CL his price will go up, a mess like Idah incoming, our last bid was £2.6m up from £2m previously which is why their chairman laughed at us.

That’s actually funny as * from them. Not allowing our bullshit, already released a statement about how much more Professional to deal with the Huns were.

They know the predicament we’ve left ourselves in, they have stood their ground on the price. I think surely we couldn’t go back in knowing exactly the demands, that they aren’t shifting on, to maybe think about possibly offering £250k more than when we walked away.

And gave us a deadline of when it could cost us more, cos they know CL clubs have more money, pricing it accordingly. And we can’t complain there, we do similar. EPL teams, the price is higher, because the market down there.

Quite like this mob, Lawwell must despise them almost as much as he does Rod Petrie

Things were not fast in the summer window, they were really slow. We were out of the CL early because our squad was bare bones. Jota, CCV and GG I'm sure all came in on the last day of the window. The three from Japan all came in quickly as their season was over and it didn't really matter that much to their clubs, same with how AJ came in during a World Cup the following season. I think O'Riley came in much later in the January window.

He looks good I'm not sure he'd do well in Rodgers stale as * formation though, where he'd be stuck far out wide and told to beat his man from a standing start

The opposite of what I think about BR’s style that. Doesn’t want guys to beat a man, wants them passing it back to recycle possession and move in to a position to get on the end of *.

It’s a fear that with what he’ll want out of Jota :56:

The time Jota is back fully fit Rodgers will be away a couple of months after so shouldn't have enough time to ruin Jota

    Interesting comments...

Do you think Rodgers tells the wingers not take anyone on?
    Or not to pass forward?
Or for the midfield to wait until wingers only have a standing start to work from?

I agree he can be formation/possession obsessed, but I don't buy he is deliberately coaching players to be negative.
I think it's mainly down to players themselves, the fragile mentality and/or lack of ability.
Now the coaches job is to improve players and get rid of those negatives, so he has to take a big part responsibility - but he's not sending them out to play like they did v Kairat.

100 agreed. Kuhn had no problem going past players, Yang has no problem doing it when he is introduced. The manager just hasn't been provided with the type of quality he wants on the wings. Palma wouldn't go past his man and Rodgers dumped him. Nygren isn't really that type of player and Rodgers wants to play him in the middle. He is crying out for wingers and I'd say he'd love a few players there who are very good at committing and beating full backs but our board have just failed to provide him with them. We bid for Orjasaeter who fitted that mould last winter and we walked away because he was too expensive for our board.

    It wasn't as 1 off

Seen many similar performances with different personnel. He definitely favours keeping possession over the more riskier, exciting style of football. Don't forget when he we 1st returned he had issues with Hatate's style of play and was playing Turnbull until Hatate "adjusted to his style of play".

There's no doubt his style stiffles creative players

I disagree, I don't think he has stifled creative players, I just don't think he has been provided with them, particularly on the wings. When he got a quality player like Kuhn settled in then look at how he performed. You could actually say Ange was stifling MOR, he had him playing as a 6 at times whereas Rodgers gave him the freedom and license to go and play. The problem with Rodgers is he has not been provided with creative outlets in the wide area by our board when he has been crying out for them. He's only had Kuhn and Jota there and neither were there when he was given the job and Kuhn is now gone and Jota out with a long term injury.

Nygrne seems to have been provided with a lot of freedom by Rodgers already, our wide issues are solely down to our options being nowhere near the level they should be.

He doesn't give them as much freedom as Ange did

Hatate was involved in more goals and assists last season than he has in any other individual season with us, including under Ange.

It doesn't give players the freedom to make mistakes. Its possession at all costs. He even said himself that Hatate losing possession trying passes did his head in.

Have you the quotes on Hatate with regard to that. I don't really recall any thing of that being said.

We've scored as many goals under Rodgers as we did Ange, different player who thrived under Ange haven't done as well under Rodgers and different players who didn't thrive under Ange have under Rodgers. I think the style of play is very similar but we are weaker in attack now than we were under Ange.

Abada, Forrest, Kyogo, GG, Jota, Maeda was a far stronger attack than we have now. Our board are responisible for the regression in that area. We have sold over 60m worth of attacking talent since Rodgers took charge.
