Say what you want about Robinson but he knows how to set up defensively as we saw the other week ago and it's always a difficult game when you play against them and maybe he's the kind of manager when we play in Europe so I wouldn't write this future appointment off .

Brendan is as much an ambassador for us as he is a good football manager. The job requires multiple skills and a massive responsibility. I'm not resigned to losing our manager yet, i'm more concerned about how things will play out if things go downhill from here, which it seems like its been set up for.

Just out of curiosity, why do you think that?

Some of the best managers have had prolonged periods of time at football clubs. Fergusson, Guardiola, Klopp, Ancelotti, Wenger. If Rodgers wanted to stay and his demands were reasonable (they might not be) we should be doing everything we possibly can to convince him to stay.

I hope it's Brendan after we splash £50m on new talent on August 31st.

Also let's close until Brendan confirmed one way or another.

3 seasons is enough for any manager is a total cliché like needs a good pre-season.

Simply because things can get stale. I don't think Rodgers is flexible enough in his system, it's happened a few times over both spells where teams have found a way of playing against us and he hasn't adapted his tactics to suit.

I love the guy and the standards he's brought to the club, we jumped up a number of levels the day he walked in the door. I just like doing something different after a while, seeing the same thing over and over just gets boring for me.

It will get stale if you don’t invest in the team and bring in the best quality you can. That was the issue first time round as well.

We should be bringing in a DoF now..

And he should be searching for the new manager now.. get Rodgers involved in it as hes obviously off..

That Nicky Hayen, manager of Club Brugge is one to watch.

One of the best up and coming managers in Europe.

These things work in cycles. So if BR has a successful season this year, we'll go with another known quantity - because it worked before. Another Celtic man or adjacent. Like when Rodgers left first time, we got Lennon back.

If it's a bad season, we go with an unknown quantity, because getting a Celtic man 'didn't work' last time. So you go from Lenny to Ange after the COVID season.

Assuming we qualify for Europe and win at least a double, we'll go for Scott Brown or some Irish/Scottish Catholic fella vaguely associated with the club.

Desmond will close ranks. Does whats best for his self i.e less aggro. Shaun Maloney will be next guy in.

So if that happens, then the manager won’t be successful any longer and then you move on.

When they still are successful, you back the manager as much as possible and try to keep them here.

And one season without that success as long as we trust in them, and see what they can still do shouldn’t be a complete automatic get rid

… how do you figure that would be less aggro?
