I understand your logic but I've never been a fan of stockpiling players based on a What If scenario. That's part of the reason you have an academy, to have back ups.

Youths will never get a chance at Celtic if we don't throw them in on the odd occasion and keep bringing in loanees to stand in their way.

Injuries are usually the way young players break in and show their worth.

I think shortly, he’ll be first choice next to CCV.

Dane Murray has been clearly named off BR as CCV’s stand in. And he’s been good to his word on that so far.

He trusts Scales and Trusty as well to a lesser extent than Scales.

Man City have high hopes for this boy, Pep absolutely made sure we have no option the end of the season. He wouldn’t be here if they thought he can’t be playing, and with no option and other players already in the position then I don’t think we would want him in if not to make an impact on the first team.

It’s a lazy comparison but think Denayer. I think first game after International break, you’ll see him start.

Don’t see it mate. City rate him highly but I just don’t think he’ll have it just yet. He’ll be a few seasons time then it’ll click at another team I think.

Denayer is a lazy comparison, he’s a lot more like that quansah in play style bud.

also the few first team appearances he got coincided with city being absolutely atrocious. So not sure that helped his confidence as he got absolutely slated down there for it.

not sure what his temperament or personality is like, it’s very possible he would have expected to walk into the team if he has any of the usual EPL ego.

I wouldn’t read too much into the no option to buy at the end of the loan either. City do it loads with their better youngsters now. Just so they can sell them for huge fees when they eventually do well during the loans compared to what they potentially would have had to settle the price at beforehand with relatively no experience
