Yeah don’t get me wrong I am not saying given the options we have he shouldn’t started but there should not be a world where 34 year old James Forrest is our main right winger for the CL.

As for Yang he should probably have been moved on but given he * show we are in I think he can only play on the left. It’s was the same the other night as soon as he went to the right he was terrible too, where he was getting some joy down the left.

Aye the first bit is spot on mate. It’s criminal that it’s the case. If he had displaced someone infront of him like he did Kuhn end of season. Then that’s what we expect him to be trying to do. But he’s a bonus player for me now. Mental that we need to rely on him as the main man.

I’ve only came to this opinion after 2/3 windows saying he should be, but as of now, I like having guys like him in the squad. We can’t have 4/5 Jotas and Maedas, sitting on the bench. We just won’t ever get that quality as back up. So guys like Yang, theyre good for the squad

A good season now entails a few decent games at the back end? As I said with certain players we set the bar very low and with others we set in very high. I'm balanced with Forrest, I judge him against other wingers we've had. He's middle of the road in that list.

Has he given us enough in European football and Old Firm games and my answer is no. Outside of Rodgers he's been banging average for us.

He's weirdly never really played much derbies, they snuffed it and were out the picture for 4 year since he was 20, then the new club only came about 4 year later and then he's been injury prone and not played much the last 4 year. He really only regularly played against them from 2016-2020.

Hes only started against them old and new 21 times yet made his debut 16 seasons ago. Tavernier from them has started 41 games for us and Forrest played for us for about 6 year before he signed for them.

He's actually only started 4 debries more than Hatate or Maeda and they signed for us almost 12 year after Forrest made his debut.

It does if doing so was a massive reason for a league win.

He was by far his best under Rodgers, true. Him coming in as a young player, and developing he was very good while not fully ready to replace older pros at the time but he was absolutely key, the game changer to push for the win our first ever CL away win Spartak Moscow, I’ll never forget his Karagandy goal to get us through, RWB against Bayern Munich he was insane the best he’s played in the Hoops. The Ajax 2-1 game. What about another first away? Win in Italy, 2-1 Lazio. Ntcham scored, who got the other.

He’s always performed well in Europe IMO.

BR’s first season in the CL he kept possession more than any other forward player in the CL. That is unbelievably vital for us. Something we miss just now
