He's behind Ralston in the Scotland setup. Was ok but not an obvious improvement at all.

He looked terrible I thought, im sure he got subbed off then the 2nd friendly he didn't even get used against was it Luxembourg, Ralston started and someone else came on or something.

He looked that bad i'd bet he's not in the next squad.

He was taking slack touches and losing the ball, and people were running at him and he was backing off and being done easily etc he did look woeful.

I was watching him since I wondered what he was like as well having never seen him, one of them where you thought he might look decent but he couldnt run, couldn't defend and couldn't control or pass a ball.

He scored the game I saw him play. Wouldn't say he was terrible just obviously behind Ralston.

That’s the eye for detail that comes with a guy of his calibre

Unless it’s out for half a season or more type injury, a total ripped off the bone type hamstring gone then the talk of needing a RB signed is mad. If it’s say 6-8 weeks which is a longer hamstring gone sort of length, then we should absolutely be relying on his back up and if needed then a youth player.

Any longer and that's what the loan markets for. You dont go spank £5m on a short term replacement. I'd have used a loan for jotas position aswel.

I’d definitely loan for Jota’s, his injury type takes a good 6 months to recover after they are ok to play.

He won’t be fully available this season.

AJ it depends on the length of time. But 2/3 months as a lengthy estimate for hamstring, and he was back in the dug out so don’t think it’s as drastic as it looks when it’s a stretcher. He wouldn’t be in the dug out if it’s hanging off the bone.

And that doesn’t need transfer market that. Ralston has shown he can be trusted, and if we don’t think we can trust a young player after that if it’s needed, we may as well not have a youth team.

Saying that, might contradict everything I said there because knowing BR Scales is probably 3rd choice

He wouldn’t have been in the dug out 10/15 mins later if it was. He’d not even be in the stadium. He’d be going for proper medical care

I remember the pain lustig was in. Utterly crying, waving arms in the air, screaming for dear life.

Cramp and back the next game. :56: can't go on player reactions.

I couldn’t tell you what a grade 4 rapture is to be fair. I was going off the estimate of time out.

Hahaha I * forgot about that, we were all worried about how bad it was. Sure after match interview it was preparing for a bad one. Then he was training next day and just some cramp.

Don’t think there’s ever been a more severe case of cramp thsn tbat

Alistair Johnston is set to miss four months after the hamstring injury he suffered against Kairat Almaty.

The full-back had to be taken off on a stretcher after pulling up in the first half of the Champions Leaguecontest at Celtic Park.

Johnston then used crutches as he returned to the bench to watch the remainder of the match.

Now, Brendan Rodgers has revealed Johnston will be sidelined for four months after a scan on the injury issue.

Quizzed on Johnston, the Celtic boss said: "Not great. He will probably be about 12 weeks.

"He had his scan yesterday, so it's disappointing for him because he's come back and started well.

"I think when you lose any player of that calibre, it is a disappointment, but it will provide an opportunity for someone to step in.
