Thought he was awful tonight

 

He was pish tonight but it’s painfully evident just how reliant we are on him. When he plays badly we generally struggle like *.

He was one of the few midfielders trying to create space last night. Got nothing in the way of help and the rest of the midfield were so static that when he did try to make something happen there was next to nowhere to go with it.

 

Carter-Vickers? Got to be joking right. Nearly left there 0-1 down because of him.

hatate, yang and potentially scales for me. Even then that’s only cos they hit a 6/10. Rest all 4’s

Last nights results really got to you

 

Well you’re actually right there, I’m raging at that pathetic display last night. To be so under prepared that we rely on * like Yang and Scales, who were both * last night, is infuriating. We weren’t nearly 1-0 down because of anything CCV did btw.

 

As I said, an overall * night with very few even at 6/10. Average.

and what do you mean “ we weren’t nearly 1-0 down because of anything CCV did”. We literally nearly conceded because he didn’t watch the ball as he was receiving it under no pressure? A few feet lower from that Brazilians shot and we’re literally 1-0 down. It’s that simple bud

 

The shot had zero impact on the game. It was off target. There’s no nearly about it. Your argument is purely hypothetical.

 

Just seems to take him an hour to wake up and start playing recently, a few of his overhit passes were brutal, as were a few others

 

Hes always been like that

 

He was one of a number of players that seemed incapable of simple passes the number of times early on we worked half decent situations only for someone to overhit the ball to release a player into the box was unreal.

Hatate did it, Nygren did it, Forrest did it, Maeda did it, and McGregor too. In addition the number of time players played hospital passes to the wide players was unreal and actually where most of their counters came from.

I don’t like the balance of Hatate, Nygren and McGregor in midfield. I think we need a more aggressive player in there with more mobility and physicality. Not even necessarily a destroyer but someone that can get on the ball and drive through the middle of the park and commit players whilst not afraid of the dirty work. Almost a 16/17 Armstrong type.

 

I honestly don't think any of them get pass marks last night. Literally not a single outfield player deserves any sort of praise. From Tierney through to Idah they were all * pish

 

That is multiplied all the more now with the lack of quality wide options we have at the moment.

You are usually quite level headed about things but CCV did almost make a costly mistake. * happens, even with better players, but should also be acknowledged.

 

You're misunderstanding. He did make the mistake, but it had zero consequences.

 

I was at the game it was CCV's poor touch that went straight to Edmilson who nearly chipped Schmeichel from the half way line. He has a few of these mistakes in him at the elite level I've noticed (Brugge & Bayern). Apart from his occasional switch off he's our best defender by a distance.

 

I'm not, an off target shot has no impact on a match.
