Hahaha 1 horsepower is enough for you then?

I do think that technology is ruining cars and the experience of driving in general tbh and EVs are turbocharged in that regard.

It was reported the other day the VW have introduced a subscription for UK customers to increase the power of it's EVs. Specifically the ID.3 range. £16.50 a month if you want to 'unlock' the full power. BMW done something similar to enable heated seats.

Can't understand why people would choose to drive a car that certain functions can be easily 'disabled'.

Yeah I really dislike that idea of paying a subscription to unlock what youve already got. Feels like a swindle and I cant imagine many people buying into it

A decent horse is actually around 15 horsepower. A couple of them is more than enough for day to day driving.

Plus, when you're done with the horse you can make a nice lasagna out of it. Have you ever tried eating a car? A miserable experience

Not just EV that’s happening with. BMW and the heated seat example you just used for one.

Toyata and Mazda both locked features like remote start, locking etc behind a paywall.

EV’s they do that * to as well but unless you buy a car that’s purely mechanical, companies will try that *.

Yeah mate, tech is ruining cars in general.

I'm due a new one in a few months and I'll be looking for a 17 or 18 plate, low mileage German diesel.

New enough to have Android auto and old enough to have an analog speedo. That's the sweet spot for me. As I will probably be driving it until the wheels fall off to avoid having to buy an EV for as long as possible.
