Looking at a few clips of him from last season surprised seeing how quick and sharp he still looks, I'd take him for a season no worries, assuming we sign a couple wingers to free up Maeda to play through the middle more.

Maeda/Vardy/Shin/Osmand, loan Kenny to an spl team to see if he can step up with regular minutes, Idah out on a trebuchet. Be happy with that at this stage.

 

Would take Reg Vardy at this point

 

Not disagreeing with you. Having a 9mill striker who can't be first choice creates all sorts of problems. Leaves us needing a vardy type loan or finding an absolute baller at a knock down fee.

I don't think the fee really needs to come into it, to be honest. Yeah, we shouldn't have paid £9m for him but we did. We have paid £1.5m for players and sold them for £20m plus 2 years later. You can't always get the very best deal and we didn't get a good deal on Idah.

We just need to scout players properly. We could get another striker in for £6m-£10m that turns out to be * excellent. Loads of teams sometimes overpay for players and loads of teams will get absolutely unbelievable deals. There's what a player is generally worth and what a team is willing to pay for them, dependent on loads of different situations. Nygren is a perfect example of that. He's probably worth £6m plus and we get him for £1.7m because he has less than 6 months on his contract. That's a market we should be exploiting far more, players coming into the final year of their contract and being able to pick them up for buttons. You can also target a higher profile player.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the price we paid for Idah should be irrelevant. Yes, we overpaid but we have gotten away with underpaying for certain players for years and making fortunes on those players. If there is a player available for similar money, like Munteanu, we shouldn't be hesitant in doing a deal like that again. I'd pay £9m for Munteanu, no doubt about it.

Seen him down the local getting a red bull. Hes ready.

 

Not by so much that he is worth bringing in for a season. We are in Scotland, and Vardy isn't needed to win silverware here. I'd rather not see us try to cover stinginess with pointless deals. Either spend proper money on a scouted player, or announce that we aren't doing any more deals.

 

Just seen Rebekah Vardy down the Barras scrapping with one of the other Wags. Think this moves definitely happening

 

Seen this * play a few times , some engine on him man.

 

Trust is a weird word. Empirical testing is what we need, and it's not like a striker's mistakes are immediately fatal. A striker can miss loads in a game, and still end up scoring. Or someone else can score.
