Tomoki Iwata

Discussion in 'Ex Players' started by Notorious, Dec 30, 2022.

  1. Called it when he moved there in this thread. Think he’ll stay at Birmingham through loyalty/the project they’ve got there. But lower end premier league teams will definitely want him come the summer or next January.

  2. Mind I saw Chris Killen score a belter against Dundee Utd and Dylan McGeoch run the length of the park and score against Hibs. One belter doesn’t make you Zidane

Don’t think he would of ever been a consistent starter for us but he wasn’t utilised nearly enough by Ange and Rodgers. Glad to see he’s doing well at Birmingham.

  5. He's scored at least once more from long range for them. I know Rodgers doesn't care, but this is the prime case for seller's remorse. We're playing Bayern, and no DM in roster.

  6. No seller's remorse here tbf.

Iwata was too nicey nice for the SPL and by extension the Champions League. Far too passive and wanting too much time on the ball, to be considered a must keep.

Birmingham is about his level and good luck to him.

No sellers remorse, he's playing in a heavily financially doped team in the third tier. He should be doing well really. He didn't cut it here and I think both Bernardo and McCowan are better players. He's nowhere near the level of Calmac, Hatate and Engels.
