Although we rarely shop in the Spanish market we took Valle last year and were linked with players last season. Incredible season last year for Martin and started the season well again now. His age will mean we won’t get much of a resale value but could instantly come in and be a starter for us at right wing

Think this one’s way out of our league but no reason at all why we shouldn’t test the waters with a £10-15mil bid. Approaching his last year of contract and been consistently good in the Russian league (that is actually becoming much stronger for the Russian players with current restrictions so is at a good level)

could potentially want to play in the champions league? I’m surprised he’s not moved already so maybe he doesn’t want to move? But worth looking into.

There’s also a 20 year old wonderkid playing for lokomotiv Moscow who is definitely outta our league but worth keeping an eye on. Alexey Batrakov, he’ll be in Europe soon enough

No hard feelings mate, just kidding, you know me. ;)
I'll check out your other suggestions with a fine tooth comb.
Clarkson not a bad player actually, but I don't think he is right for Celtic, Mulligan is a different type that has all the right attributes, to deliver what Brendan wants in his midfield, more pace and power.

And I think we will spend £££ on two starters to be honest.

Hope you’re right mate! Got a horrid feeling we’ll go big on a player who isn’t quite there yet (Needs bedding in time/young prospect) and then get a last minute wide loan from England.

we should be looking in the 23-27 age range not necessarily to maximise profit. Teams in the Netherlands generally usually buy a few players who’ll come in and make a difference immediately but that also they won’t have much resale value on. We should be looking at more players like that.

still lots of work to be done but don’t think we’ll get everything we/Rodgers wants.

Annoyingly Forbs and Stankovic look great for Brugge. Two players we were rumoured to have looked at.

Clubs at a similar level to us are leaving us miles behind bcoz of our out of date structure.

Sadly our board don't look at clubs like Brugge as our benchmark, they think they are doing a fantastic job bcoz we are still ahead of a pish Huns teams made up of English championship cast offs

They've sold 3 players for 70+ million in this window as well

So could we have if we had a proper player trading model.

Ange spoke of it a few years ago and how it was the way to progress as a club, then had a meeting with Lawwell and he was then away a couple of months later.

Like everything we do as a club our player trading model is at the bare minimum

Club Brugge spend 7,8,9 million on a single player. They've spent close to 40 million in this window and sold 70 million worth of players. Iv no idea how the board dont realise we need to bring in quality players in order to compete at the highest level which in turn will make our players more valuable. We haven't done too bad over the years in regards to player profit but we're lagging behind now the likes of Club Brugge, Feyenoord, Benfica even Nordsjælland just sold a young academy boy for 15 million the other day while we're being linked to 38 yr old Ex Prem Strikers , spending peanuts on boys from relegated Japanese teams and getting * loan players with no option to buy its ridiculous

Lenny brought it up shortly before stepping down his first stint here, Ronny just was happy to be here, Rodgers was a major outspoken person for it and demanding bigger fees for our players don’t allow them to be undervalued due to the league their in and used examples of other clubs poor leagues who will demand massive money and get it, to reinvest. He stressed that point majorly. Lenny second spell, he never was a guy happy to be back much different attitude than the guy who walked due to our lack of ambition.

Ange stressed it after that as has Rodgers now.

So that’s been about 12 years of managers demanding our player trading model is to move us forward. We have one part right, we do sell on very well and for good money. But that doesn’t raise the market we look at for the replacement, who can then go on for more money again.

The one time we have, with BR majorly forcing the issue is Engels replacing O’Riley.
