CELTIC are set to bank a seven-figure sum from Ben Doak’s £25million move from Liverpool to Bournemouth.

SunSport can reveal the Scotland star will sign a big money five-year contract to join the Cherries.


And part of the agreement will see Celts rake in what sources have described as a “significant’ fee from the deal.

It’s previously been reported that Scotland’s champions weren’t due a penny from Doak’s next move given his £600,000 transfer to Anfield in 2022 was agreed by tribunal.

But SunSport understands a sell-on clause was in fact inserted into the agreement when the transfer was completed - and the percentage amounts to a seven-figure sum.


Bournemouth will now pay out £20m up front with another £5m payment in add-ons.


And Doak will put pen to paper after his medical is completed.

Doak, 19, has made just ten appearances for the Anfield club since joining them three years ago.

The six-times capped attacker is desperate for regular first-team action.


And the south east Premier League club have shaken off stiff competition to land the teenager.


Leeds and Porto were linked with Doak, who starred in a loan spell with Middlesbrough last season.

But Bournemouth have won the race for the youngster’s signature after transfer talks.

He’ll now pen a deal until the summer of 2030

 

Just shows how insane the transfer fees are in the English league. 29m euro for a guy who hasn't done anything of any real note is insane. Great that it seems we will pick up another few million euro but just crazy that fee IMHO. The only area our board seem to be good at transfer wise is in getting solid sell on clauses into deals so credit where its due on that score.

Is it not the 4% training clause rather than a sell on % . Liverpool didn't pay a fee for him it was a tribunal so would be weird if we had a sell on

So Liverpool take our player for virtually nothing(in football terms), hold on to him for a year or so before loaning him out to mighty Middlesbrough and he's now worth £25M. Stinks to high Heaven, even with the sell-on fee. The PL won't be happy until it's crushed competition from everywhere else on the planet.
