Also done it with Gus after injuries to the back line

 

He just needs to go, should have punted him years ago. Offers us absolutely nothing. Sick of seeing him on the deck holding his shoulder every few months when he reappears.

Stephen Welsh is also attracting interest from England and Belgium and is likely to go out on loan again.

 

We don't have room to waste a loan on him

Plymouth Argyle are still waiting for Celtic to decide on whether centre-back Stephen Welsh can join them on loan.

The League One club have made an improved offer of a season-long loan deal, with an option to buy. Celtic are considering the offer, but are being mindful of other players who may leave the club on loan.

Last year, new FIFA rules stipulated that one club can only have six players out on international loans at a time.

Celtic already have three players out on international loans - Luis Palma at Lech Poznan, Odin Thiago Holm at LAFC and Maik Nawrocki at Hannover 96.

That might be the delay if others want permanent. If that offers not there a loan down there and if he does well for a season, then he’s worth much more as well.

if it’s a loan, we better not agree a fee for him right now.

We done it for Palma but so we probably will. Think we’d have noticed after Hendry for £700k immediate punted for £5m and the fact we got £3.5m for MJ after ten cracking games

We've already used half our allocated loans on players we are putting in the shop window and want rid of.

At some stage we need to use the loan system to develop players that actually have a future here

Looks like Inamura will go on loan now, still think Kenny is likely too, providing we actually sign any * and probably Osmand as well.

All 3 would benefit from going out and playing regularly, although I'm now at the stage were I'm having doubts if Inamura will ever play a competitive 1st team game here.

 

Loan system has been used to try and shift dead wood for a while and it's awful. The guff window from 23/24 is still hurting with Holm, Nawrocki and Palma taking up spaces.

We've signed 3 punts who need a loan but they won't get them because we will use them to try and sell Kenny, Welsh and Tilio.

 

Looks like Benji was spot on, us holding onto the likes of Welsh & Tilio when there are offers on the table is madness. The board are so backwards.

So we do have an option to sell. Just for a low fee. Stringing this out feels not worth it.

 

This limit of 6 international loans is a bit of a pain, even if I can see the merits of trying to prevent clubs like Chelsea just stockpiling talent.
