    ODIN THIAGO HOLM – LAFC
It’s been a frustrating spell for Odin Thiago Holm in the MLS. Injuries have limited the Norwegian midfielder to just three league appearances, his last coming in April. A lengthy leg injury kept him out for 92 days, and since returning he’s featured in MLS Next Pro rather than LAFC’s first team. He was an unused substitute in a 1-0 defeat to Portland Timbers and left out entirely for the 2-2 draw with Chicago Fire.

    ADAM MONTGOMERY – LIVINGSTON
Montgomery started in Livingston’s 3-1 win over Falkirk but was replaced at half-time with his side already in control. The full-back had played the full 90 in the previous week’s 2-2 draw with Kilmarnock and has impressed with his defensive work rate early in the season. Livi now sit third in the Premiership, just two points off Celtic.

    LUIS PALMA – LECH POZNAŃ
Palma played the full match in Lech Poznań’s 3-1 home defeat to Crvena zvezda in the Champions League third qualifying round. Used centrally, the Honduran found space hard to come by. Lech face a tough second leg in Belgrade, trailing 3-1 on aggregate.
    MAIK NAWROCKI – HANNOVER 96
Nawrocki is still waiting for his first appearance in Germany. He has not made the squad for either of Hannover’s 2-0 wins over Köln and Fortuna Düsseldorf, with his side sitting third in the 2. Bundesliga.

JOSH CLARKE & BEN MCPHERSON – PARTICK THISTLE
It was a shared outing for the Celtic pair at Firhill as Partick Thistle drew 1-1 with Greenock Morton. Goalkeeper Josh Clarke made his first league appearance for the Jags as he looks to challenge for the No.1 jersey following last season’s strong loan at Ayr United.
Ben McPherson entered the fray for the final 19 minutes at right-back, adding drive down the flank as Thistle chased a winner. Both will be aiming to turn these early minutes into consistent starts as the campaign develops.
JUDE BONNAR & KYLE URE – AYR UNITED
Both started in Ayr’s 1-0 loss to Raith Rovers, with the only goal arriving inside the opening minute. Bonnar played 65 minutes before being substituted. Ayr sit seventh after two games.

    MITCHELL ROBERTSON – INVERNESS CT
Robertson was an unused substitute in Inverness’ 2-0 win over Peterhead, having played just one minute the previous week. Inverness remain seventh but have been docked 15 points for entering administration.

Think it'll be a matter of waiting on contracts expiring for most of them.

    Celtic loan latest

It would be a lie to state that it has been an eventful week for Celtic's homegrown loanees. Although Jude Bonnar and Kyle Ure both started for Ayr United against Raith Rovers, Scott Brown's men lost by a goal to nil. Bonnar played until 65 minutes as Ure completed the full 90.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Championship, Josh Clarke and Ben McPherson each made their respective debuts for Mark Wilson's Partick Thistle. Clarke began in goal against Greenock Morton, with right-back McPherson coming on for the final 20 minutes of the 1-1 draw.

Up a division, Adam Montgomery played his part in Livingston's eye-catching 3-1 victory over Falkirk. At the end of the first half, he drove forward from left-back before finding Macauley Tait, who in turn played it to Lewis Smith. He fired into the top corner to make it 2-0.

At the break, however, Montgomery came off with a muscle issue, the extent of which remains to be seen. In his short career so far, the 23-year-old has been plagued by injuries; his loan at Motherwell earlier this year ended early because of a hamstring problem.

Finally, there was a first start in professional football for central defender Mitchell Robertson on Tuesday night. He is spending the season at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and got the nod as they beat Elgin City 4-1 in the Challenge Cup.

I don't know if this is a thing already or not but I wonder if we could incentefy lower premier or higher championship spfl clubs to take our young talent and give them game time by paying them a set fee for playing a certain amount of competitive minutes, for instance they play 25 games worth we give them 50k and then increment it as the game time increases, or offer a small % of future sales.
Clubs quite rightly don't want to to develop our players but maybe doing something like this could help

Not sure what the legalities of this could be. Potential for clubs to use it as a way to ‘clean’ money for match fixing so I’d imagine there’s some form of legislation that stops this. Is a good idea though If this isn’t the case

Id imagine the simple way is just giving someone on a fraction of their wages. If you hand one of these teams a player you're essentially saving them money anyway.

I imagine the bigger issue is some teams just won't want to develop talent for us when they could develop their own.

This weeks loan update from CeltsAreHere

    ODIN THIAGO HOLM – LAFC
Odin Thiago Holm remains on the fringes at LAFC. The midfielder was an unused substitute in their 2-0 away win at New England Revolution over the weekend and has struggled to establish himself in the side since making the move Stateside.
Having been sidelined for over three months with a leg injury, Holm has mostly featured in MLS Next Pro fixtures and has yet to make a consistent impact in the senior team. His long-term role at Celtic may depend on whether he can turn things around in the months ahead.

    ADAM MONTGOMERY – LIVINGSTON
Adam Montgomery was absent from Livingston’s squad during their 2-0 defeat at home to Hibs in the Premier Sports Cup, having suffered a muscle injury in the previous week’s match against Falkirk.
The left-back had made a promising start to life at the Tony Macaroni Arena, featuring regularly before his injury setback. With Livi looking to steady their season, Montgomery will be hoping for a quick return to fitness.

    LUIS PALMA – LECH POZNAŃ
Luis Palma got off the mark for Lech Poznań, scoring a late equaliser in their 1-1 draw with Korona Kielce on Saturday. The Honduran winger rose well inside the area to head home in the 83rd minute, rescuing a point for his side in a match where they had trailed for much of the contest.
Poznań sit ninth in the Ekstraklasa, but hold a game in hand over several sides above them, including Wisla Plock. Palma’s performance will be a welcome boost as the Polish outfit aim to climb the table.

    MAIK NAWROCKI – HANNOVER 96
It’s been a slow start for Maik Nawrocki in Germany. The centre-back once again failed to make the matchday squad as Hannover crashed out of the DFB Pokal in a shock defeat to Energie Cottbus.
Nawrocki has yet to play a competitive minute since his loan move, and while Hannover maintain an option to buy, he’ll need regular football soon if he’s to convince the club to take up that clause.

JOSH CLARKE & BEN MCPHERSON – PARTICK THISTLE
Josh Clarke enjoyed a strong outing in Partick Thistle’s 2-0 win over Ayr United in the Premier Sports Cup, keeping a clean sheet and helping the Jags book a home tie against Celtic in the next round.
Right-back Ben McPherson also featured prominently, playing 66 minutes and putting in a solid shift on the flank. Both players were instrumental in securing the result against a team that also featured fellow Celtic loanees.

JUDE BONNAR & KYLE URE – AYR UNITED
It was a more difficult day for Jude Bonnar and Kyle Ure, who both started for Ayr in that defeat to Partick. Ure picked up a booking during a competitive showing, while Bonnar was withdrawn at half-time as Scott Brown opted to tweak his system after going two goals down.

    MITCHELL ROBERTSON – INVERNESS CT
Mitchell Robertson remained an unused substitute as Inverness went down 2-0 at home to Stenhousemuir. Game time has been limited for the defender, who’s only played a single minute in the last two matches. Caley Thistle continue to hover near the bottom of the League One table and are in need of a spark.
As the season picks up pace, several of Celtic’s young players are showing early signs of progress in their loan spells, while others still have ground to make up. For the B team, the focus now shifts to bouncing back from the Linlithgow defeat and continuing their strong cup form against Kelty Hearts.
