    Thought he was poor considering.

If he didn’t score this thead would be “active” shall we say.

Happy for him to get his contract and his goal. He needs more minutes before making any real judgement I think.

Like how his first pass usually goes forward. Was impressed, wouldn't have any issues him being around the team and playing in league games

Couple of bad decisions with passes but thought he was okay. Hopefully gets enough minutes to show what he can do. If Scales is going to play LB while Tierney builds up then should be enough space.

I was impressed considering he’s barely had any 1st team football with us, very strong with a good turn of pace plus comfortable on the ball. He would definitely benifit from a good loan though because he will have very limited game time this season.

He could develop into a very good player.

And it was a day to remember for youngster Dane Murray, who celebrated signing a new four-year contract by scoring his first goal for the club.

Rodgers said: “It was great for him because he's a great boy. He's got a lot of potential. And I think over the next 12 to 18 months, he's going to really grow.

“I think his ceiling's so high. There's areas of the game that he needs to clearly, obviously, work on. But he's six foot four. He's quick. He can take the ball.

“He has a comfort with the ball, which aligns with top players. And he just, again, concentration is something that's key for defenders. But I really, really like him.

“And that's hence the reason we've tied him down. And I think he's got a great future.”

Murray will more than likely go on loan.

The way Rodgers spoke about Sinisalo, he’s clearly considering it for some players even when featured tonight.

I like him but he needs to be playing especially after how much football he missed. Very impressive to even be back in the first tesm fold after that.

Get him out on loan down south or he’ll end up being in the same situation as Welsh, sitting 4th choice mid twenties with about 100 games played.

With respect, Man City are not sending us a young boy who started in the CL for them unless he’s coming into partner CCV.

Loan him to Falkirk. They obviously need a centre half and he’s a guarantee to get 30 games with them

Where the * is Pusey as well?

He’s not here to sit on the bench never mind the stands. City outright dismissed any idea of a fee to sign him after the loan because they rate him, Pep rates him as one for the future for City (and not the far future), they will have wanted guarantees he will play a certain amount if not all when he’s fit to.

Liverpool certainly do that, I don’t know if City do but big clubs are following that route Liverpool I think started.

So then it depends on how good he is. If he’s another Denayer then he’s first choice next to CCV anyway. He’s puzzling as a signing and until we see if he’s quality enough a season of him makes us better not just polishing a City young players roughness and mistakes out of him will I have a better idea

Murray needs games btw, on topic. He’s a tickbox for homegrown and Scottish though, and we need that, so he won’t go on loan. Infact… is Welsh still here? If he is then he will

Yeah Welsh still here at the moment.

Although talk of him going back out on loan. Either we have forgot the loan rules or they simply don't apply to us.

In the last week there has been talk of Welsh, Inamura, Tillio and Osmand going out on loan. Add to that the rumours of Yang and likelihood of Kenny also going out on loan of we bring in another striker.

He wasn't great but pleased we're giving an academy player a chance. Hopefully he improves as much as Rodgers hopes. Great for him to get his first goal for the club too.
