On Wednesday I returned to a lovely area of a large forest in Snowdonia for the first time in 24 years!!!!! I went to get cool dragonflies and Bhoy did I get some . 5 species in all. 3 of which I have note seen in beyond countless years. I got excellent views of Common Hawker , Golden Ringed Dragonfly, Black Darter, Keeled Skimmer and Johnie Common Darters :84:

Worth googling all those Dragonflies ever so handsome. I also saw 2 species of their smaller more dainty cousins the Damselflies with Common Blues and Blue Tailed Damselflies.

I also saw a Peregrine. But it was very quiet on the birding front. Mind you that was no surprise as I spent ages looking at the Dragons:84:

It was quite a long slog up there from the bus stop. It was cloudy and just a hint warm at first but as midday passed the hot sun was menacing which was good for what I was after.

I took a wrong turn on the way back to the bus stop and had to back track half a mile missing the target bus but made up for it getting fine food from the excellent village butcher and the next bus was on time :36:

Next week I will be back to my favourite valley a few miles away in the other direction from the same village called Trefriw and I will seriously look for birds of prey and check a moorland pool I found back in May for more Dragons.
