Actually I’m not worried about the distance. Chilling in business class for a few hours. No bother.

Yeah agreed here. Should be absolutely fine.

Be'er Sheva came right when Rodgers first arrived and it was a real nervy time for the club. Had lost to Lincoln Red Imps away, didn't win in Astana either so we knew our away record wasn't great. Not to mention the couple of goals Be'er Sheva got at Celtic Park caused some slight nerves going into it. Losing the first goal was always going to make it a tough night in that heat.

Astana away was just absolutely * ridiculous. Pathetic performance and were flirting with actually caving in a 5-0 first-leg lead against a bang-average team. One of the worst one-off away performances I can remember and that's saying something.

There's a lot more experience in the squad now and Rodgers has been over this road before. I would be slightly disappointed if we didn't win both legs tbh. But yeah definitely want to go to Kairat Almaty with a convincing lead and I'm certain from there it'll be a stress-free night.

Maybe if we sign any more Japanese or Korean based players they could meet the squad out there

People probably only nervous because we know nothing about them and we are unsure of our own attacking quality or ability to score goals since we all think we are a couple of attacking players down.

In reality Yang, Yamada and Forrest might take 5 off this mob.

Their 16 year old striker is better than our £9mil striker

Once it kicks off and Nygren/Forrest/Yang are waltzing through them like prime Maradona against Partick Thistle everyone will be thinking "oh we'll probably take about 6 off them". Johnston and Tierney flying down the wings putting balls into the box, McGregor and Hatate and whoever dominating the ball in midfield.

Idah probably has more chance of scoring a hat-trick than they do a goal.

Even us under strength i'd think could do them 4 to 6-0.

We could play Ralston and Scales at full-back, Bernardo, Engels and McCowan in midfield and Forrest, Yang and Yamada up front and still dominate and pump them with any amount.

This is their first season in Europe in a few years, so to a lot of their players we will be the first ever decent team they've played.

Hope so mate, I think in Europe though nothing can ever be guaranteed! Have the faith we’ll do it but don’t think it’s gonna be a stroll

The reality is they come from a really mediocre League with really mediocre players.

Sinisalo, Ralston, Scales, McCowan and Yang would probably be the greatest players in this teams history.

Chelsea already bought him when he was 15 to join at 18 :giggle1: their scouts must be hid in bushes and rooftops

When would teams like Qarabag, Sigma Olomouc, Kisvarda ever beat our League champions home and away though? even teams like Red Star and Basel wouldn't.

Last season TNS the Welsh team beat Astana 2-0 and Astana finished 1 point behind this mob.

The Kazakh League seemed to have a good spell from like 2015-2019, maybe they spent a bit more money then or something but their teams European results were really good for a spell of years before they fell apart again. Astana qualified for the CL once and Europa twice only losing 6 out of 18 Group games. Even that Kairat were better back then than now. Since 2019 though only Kairat have qualified for the Conference 1 time and Astana 1 time where combined they only won 1 out of 12 games between them.

We are talking about teams and a League who could never dream of a player like Yang playing for them.

You’re completely right bud but as I said before in Europe nothing is ever guaranteed. We lost 7-1 to Dortmund and then somehow drew 0-0 against an Atalanta team on absolute fire who scored 6 and 5 either side of us.

Also under Rodgers we’ve also been beaten by Lincoln red imps! Europe throws up shocks time and time again.

lot of people said kairat won’t even beat Bratislava and look what’s happened there. I’m gonna reserve my confidence til we’re 2-0 up :giggle1:

This is how the Kazakh Champions have been knocked out the CL in previous seasons...

2020 Budocnost Podgorica 1-0 (went on to lose 1-0 to Sarajevo)
2021 Red Star 6-2 (went on to lose 2-1 to Sheriff Tiraspol)
2022 Ferencvaros 5-1 (went on to lose 4-2 to Qarabag)
2023 Dinamo Zagreb 6-0 (went on to lose 4-3 to AEK Athens)
2024 Pyunik 4-3 (went on to lose 4-2 to Celje)

The only even decent teams they've played Red Star, Ferencvaros and Dinamo Zagreb all pumped them and even those teams all got beat in the next round.

Losing to teams who went on themselves to lose to teams from Bosnia, Moldova, Azerbaijan and Slovenia.
