Can't believe people are voting for "also yes" - just don't see how you can even think that. Admins should be handing out bans.

 

Remember seeing the clip of that tackle with the huntv commentary and the pie on the mic saying they'll be taking that to the sfa on monday.

 

Absolutely ONE of the greatest tackles of all time, especially when viewed in slow motion with Celine Dion's sweet vocals playing in the background.

I think - what I tend to remember and some may not - is that as great a tackle it be (even sexier seeing that rat tangerine face Miller flying through the air, and no foul given) is that it was Simunovic's * poor pass out of defence that lead to that attacking movement from der Hun.

But I'll forgive that as he certainly made up for it in the end

 

Just checked and very surprised to see Simunovic is still only 31. His career had effectively come to an end at the age of 26.

Hard to know how what kind of career he'd have had only for injuries. He was ok without ever looking top class but at the same time he was never able to get any continuity with injuries.

I used to work in Leigh and met a guy called Greg Strong who was a Bolton player. Think he also played for Motherwell.

In one game - against Sheff Wed- I think, he made a brilliant tackle to take the ball off the foot of the attacker without giving a pen.

Unfortunately the ball then made contact with his other leg and was an OG.

Commence a lot of * taking.

Aye, I remember watching it, and i think even commentary at time were saying it was pen after initial reactions.

We then see the replay and see it was the most well timed slide tackle in the box
