Would really have needed to start doing that in preseason. Was it not mostly Yang, Forrest and Tillio that played right side those games?

Is he? We have youngsters who can fill in just as good as tilio can (not at all). We shouldn’t risk losing out on this opportunity to get rid of tilio because of Rodgers trying to make a point

Yeah - important to send a message to the board.

If we miss this opportunity it’s because the board still haven’t replace Kuhn, nevermind replaced Tilio.

Absolutely pointless keeping him until we had signed another winger.

I'd rather give a youngster his spot.

I have no idea why we are not spending!

Rapid Vienna are prepared to play the waiting game to land top target Marco Tilio, writes Scott Burns in Vienna.

The Austrians, who face Dundee United in the first leg of their Europa Conference Leaguequalifier tomorrow night, have a loan deal in place with an obligation to buy the Hoops winger.

The issue is that Celtic won’t sanction a deal until they get more players in to bolster their squad.

Rapid, however, are prepared to play the waiting game even if it means going down to the wire to land the Australian international.

Rapid Vienna sporting director Markus Katzer confirmed: “There is interest. We’re monitoring the interest.

“We had interest in him before then Celtic signed him.

But we’re looking at players in his position and we’re certainly interested in him but that doesn’t mean it’s a done deal.”

Celtic signed Tilio from Melbourne City back in 2023.

He has struggled to make an impact under Brendan Rodgers and has spent the last two seasons on loan at his former club, Melbourne City.

The 23-year-old hasn’t really had a chance to make the grade at Celtic although he has been back in the group since pre-season.

Melbourne are also keen to get him back, although his preference is to make his mark in Europe.

Petty and childish from Rodgers to be honest.

Due to homegrown restrictions it's unlikely he'll even be named in the squad for the playoffs.

Doing a guy out of a move to benefit his career to make a point to the board is a * move.

Can see a repeat of 2018 where Desmond is gonna have to step in to deal with the petty fighting of Lawwell and Rodgers

So first we want to offload players that want to leave quickly so we can get replacements sooner now we’re hoarding squad players until we replace them. What a shambles, * hate every single transfer window, sooner its over the better.

I don't see the point holding on, he's not going to play anyway is he? You'd play a colt ahead of him or even Nygren on the wing if required.

The fact we're doing this with Tilio when we let Palma go in madness.

  19. Palma's wages will be far more than Tilio's..

Watching Monday’s game, Aberdeen’s new Aussie winger looked about 5 times better and more suited to the league than Tilio ever has.

Always thought it was a strange one this, especially after he said he’d never spoken to Ange (which suggests it wasn’t his suggestion/signing)
