I'm aware, but it fits the profile we need.

Might as well stick this in the player suggestion thread as well

CELTIC scouts have had their eyes trained on one particular Conference League match-up this week.

SunSport understands that Hoops scouting chief Paul Tisdale has been paying close attention to the clash between Hammarby and Charleroi.

The giant figure of Victor Eriksson must have impressed as he nodded in the goal in the final minute of extra time which took the Swedes into the next round.

But Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that the Hoops, who are set to add Jahmai Simpson-Pusey to an already crowded defensive department, are NOT looking for another central defender right now.

Asked if Simpson-Pusey would be the last central defender to arrive, Rodgers told reporters: “There are lots of links with various players, but yeah, I would see him being our last central defender.”

For the record, Hammarby are insistent he isn't for sale any way this summer and the player himself said last night that he wasn't going anywhere.

But Eriksson wasn't the only player of interest in last night's Conference League clash in Belgium - with at least three other stars taking part who are highly prized across Europe.

Here SunSport runs them under the microscope:

    Jusef Erabi (Hammarby)
    Age: 22

    Position: Striker

    Nationality: Swedish

Swedish players are back in fashion at Celticthese days.

It's a club where Henrik Larsson wrote himself into folklore and the likes of Johan Mjallby, Mikael Lustig, Magnus Hedman and Daniel Majstorovic served with distinction.

The Hoops have already added one Swedish international this summer in the form of Benjamin Nygren (even if Gustav Lagerbielke went in the other direction) and SwedenUnder-21 star Jusef Erabi is another who could fit the bill.

The powerful 6ft forward - called the 'Swedish Hulk' for his likeness to the Brazilian forward - was mentioned in connection with the Hoops back in January.

He has also been linked with Serie A side Hellas Verona and French cracks Lens with a fee in the region of £4m and he was on target with the opening goal for the Swedes last nigh

    Nikola Stulic (Charleroi)
    Age: 23

    Position: Striker

    Nationality: Serbian

Dangerous frontman who scored one on the night and almost came up with the matchwinner for Charleroi in the final minute of the 90.

A product of the Partizan Belgrade youth academy, the brawny Stulic stands 6ft2in tall. He been linked with a move to Lecce.

With only a year left on his current deal, he could be snapped up as a bargain buy for less than £1m.

    Parfait Guaiagon (Charleroi)
    Age: 24

    Position: No 10/winger

    Nationality: Ivory Coast

The diminutive Ivory Coast star - he's only 5ft 7in - is an eye-catching little dribbler who can play wide or in the No 10 role

He's under contract until the summer of 2026, with the club having an option for a further year.

Guaiagon was linked with Rangers back in 2023 when coming through the ranks at Maccabi Tel Aviv.

He's represented by Dudu Dahan, who brought the likes of Nir Bitton, Beram Kayal and Liel Abada to the Hoops.

Nikola Stulic got 17 goals in 34 games last season, not the worst record

Feels like over a month since we last had a 'welcome to Celtic' opened up here in Celtic talk and the ones we do see are usually teenage prospects rather than someone who's going to be in the starting 11 should we manage to win this final round CL qualifiers and ATM it looks like the Huns are getting an easier time of it in their qualifiers.

If they quality and we don't I really don't give a * about the league now. They done better than us in the league last year over the 4 league games Vs us and right now we appear to be weaker than we were at this time last year. Since Ange I can't remember the last exciting transfer window we had.

Stulic looks fairly good for under a 1m.

    Dear recruitment team,

I know there are good players in the most surprising of places, but just purely in terms of the percentages, I'm not sure a qualifier for the Conference League is the most promising place to search for someone with that extra quality to help us kick on in the CL (assuming we even qualify).

If, on the other hand, we're looking for someone relatively cheap that can do a job, then carry on. I can see you're looking in all the right places.

Erabi would be a decent signing but I'd view him not as an outright no1 immediately. Brings something completely different.

Would rather him alongside Munteanu for example but not gonna happen with Idah here.

I know we have the same * practically every year and every year I always say to myself that I'm not going to renew my st but I always do as I love my team but, if they feckers do feckall re signing players over the next few days then I will probably sell my st and, although it'll hurt, will just buy a fire stick.

Theyre getting nailed in the rags.

I've lost count how many pundits have weighed in and remarked on Celtics (ie. Desmonds) refusal to spend money.

Sutton has had a go, THREE times in the space of 4 days.

That odious little toad Keevins is the latest, absolving Lawwell of any blame because a year ago, in person, Pete told him he'd nowt to do with transfers.

Ive a bridge Id like to sell that little troll. He can move in underneath it.

But it wont be long until Desmond and his minions start pushing back. Calling up bloggers and journos, and challenging them to general knowledge quizzes about Celtic scores from 5 years ago; as some sort of evidence they dont know what theyre talking about.

I always found it hilarious Dermot Desmond actually did that. It made him look like a complete idiot.

Priority needs to be right wing. Would actually settle for a quality loan deal for left wing cause we know jota will be back towards end of season amd hopefully fully ready the next season. But we need to go and spend a few quid on the right now. I'm normally positive every window but I'm completely * off this year * are ripping it

Did we pay anything for Inamura? Does seem odd that we’ve had the last couple of months off and only spent £2/3m but we are only Kuhn down and Nygren and Shin look first team players and maybe even Inamura.
