I hadn't noticed that; but as soon as you said it, I realised you were right.

Even with Ange mate things only really changed because of Dom Mckay. Then he was shown the door for going rogue and signing Juranovic etc without running it by the mafia.

Then maeda, Hatate etc in the January was all led by Ange directly.

Anytime we need to rely on those in charge we can't.

Absolutely agree with all of that.

Honestly think with them at the helm we are just wanting to be ahead of the zombies half a step.

They want to do everything on the cheap and are reactive to everything.
We should be light years ahead of everyone and in reality we could swing the balance in the zombies favour by the board * us once again

We should probably know over the next 4 weeks if Rodgers is going to stay or go based on the remaining transfer business.

He either gets his signings which show the board are prepared to back him and want to keep him.

Or its a few loans and bargain basement type signings which indicate the board are sticking to their guns and ready to part ways at the end of the season.

I was literally going to say this. Sounds * * identical doesn't it?

"We know the work that we need to do and it’s my responsibility to convince the club that we really need them and clearly I’m not doing that job as well as maybe what I can, but I will continue to pursue that because it’s something that’s really important for us.”

Transfer thread title should be changed to Pitchforks now.

He’s been very clever here. If we don’t get quality in, he will be grilled about it and it makes it very clear where the blame lies. Only issue is I’m not sure the board actually give two * what anyone thinks. No one is asking for anything unreasonable but when you’ve sold a key player for £17mill, as well as kyogo in Jan, it’s bare minimum to replace that quality. One look at our depth out wide and the options up front would have any other club hunting high and low to set us up for success.

I remember Lawwell's sad wee interview the first time Brendan left, looked like he was gonna greet. To have learned nothing is ridiculous especially after the Lennon mess, who was his pick, and having to leave his role as CEO because of it. An absolute * of man.

    He won't walk.

What he's said today though is very clever. Either way he's going to come out of this looking fine with the support.

That's not a slight btw. I love Rodgers always have and I'm glad he's came out and said what he has. It's just very clever and typical of him. He is smarter than all of them and thats probably why some dont like it.

Definitely will see this season out at least. He wont risk the relationship with the fans again and knows if he does want to call it a day hes free to do so at the end of the season.

He knows how to play the game though. This is definitely a challenge to the board but if it gets him what he wants then that may keep him happy.

A shame it has to get to this point though of media games to actually get things moving.

I think even if they do give him what he wants (NEEDS) it's probably too late. To force him to the point of what he said today, I just can't see him committing to another 3 years of this nonsense.

And tbh why the * would you bother.

Unlike when he danced away to Leicester. Rodgers has truly played a blinder here.

He was smart enough to learn from the previous exit, that as long as he says just enough to throw the board under the bus but not enough to immediately get him sacked, this time round he has the fans on his side.

If * all changes between now and the end of the window then he will likely say some thinly veiled things throughout the season and likely pick up the pending Brentford job as there seems like there is way too much pressure on Andrews to pick up the dust of Frank leaving and the squad being sold off. Maybe even West Ham

Think it can be hard to tell with Rodgers though. Hes savvy with how he uses his media dealings. He obviously wants more quality in the door asap. He may not be quite as unhappy as it sounds - but he knows this interview will play well with the fans and put some pressure on the board. It also takes the heat off him coming into this month which has some big games. If any of these results dont go our way - all the heat is going to go on the board. Very little will go on Rodgers.

If we have a good August, and we get the right players in, the mood will change fast I think. He doesn't have to commit to anything until next year. He can take his time and see how things pan out and what kind of opportunities are knocking about end of the season.

I never really blamed him for leaving last time because it seemed pretty apparent that the board were dicking him about with signings. People were asking him about players being brought in and he was making it clear at the time that he knew basically nothing about some of these signings. Didn't like the way he left, but didn't blame him for actually leaving, if that makes sense.

Now he's back and presumably he was given certain intimations if not outright promises about the club's ambitions. And now he's had a meeting with the club, he's not been offered a new contract, and he's expressing veiled concerns about simply 'maintaining' the level at Celtic. Which presumably means maintaining our position domestically rather than globally, which only continues to decline year-on-year.

He sounds like a manager that has given up hope that this organisation's leadership will make good on its commitments. He sounds like he's counting down the days til he can go and do anything else. He came here to establish some kind of legacy - to build a team like O'Neill or to go on a run like Strachan. Instead, he's expected to tread water because the club have no ambition or faith in us to go to the next level.

That board, if left to their own devices, will run us into obscurity. They are a bunch of decrepit, old, complacent men that live on the golf course and treat Celtic like a part-time family business. They will never change and like the Kellys every one of them must go.

Couldn't find the post or remember what thread it was in but someone on here had quoted a club we had dealt with recently saying we use a 3rd party to negotiate deals.

That seems completely * bizarre if true, what the * is Nicholson getting paid to do if he's not capable of negotiating deals?

Also if true should we be asking who this company is. Given our Tories leanings on the board, would anyone be surprised if this negotiating company isn't linked to or ran by a family member of someone on the board who will no doubt he getting a nice wee slice of any deals.

He’s almost quoted Ange word for word with the “maybe I haven’t done a good enough job of convincing the board and that’s on me”

So thats two consecutive managers that have said the board are not doing their job.
Effectively stating that their requests, pleas and needs are being IGNORED, and that they are sitting on their hands.

    Enough is enough.

    Action needs taken asap.

Get the banners out. Swarm the celtic way. Mars bars, metal sharks and chants.

We need as much media attention put on these * as soon as possible.

This is WHY the Green Brigade exist. A check against these * parasites who treat ALL of the fans like consumers. Really hope they have A LOT planned for the near future. They need to get on this. A banner on flag day isnt gonna cut it.

It needs to be the type of sustained action that got Lennon and Lawwell out last time around.

Where are yis lads? Your club needs you.
