Players under contract can want away as much as they want but they need their clubs permission to go. Daizen at the minute is not signing a new contract, there is interest in him, does he want away? Kyogo wanted to leave last season, did he chuck it too or was he just out of form.

The fact you can't see it's a shambles we decided to let a player with 4 years left on his contract, who contributed 30+ G/A last season, who was a player of the year nominee last season, go for £16m with no plan to replace him is a shambles. It's not how a well run operates.

You don't have anything concrete to go on and as I've pointed out numerous times now, which you conveniently ignore, we're the only club who operates like us. Hatate and his agent have made far more utterings about wanting to move on than Kuhn and his agent has done. Should we run Hatate out the door next.

An out of form Kuhn is 10x the player Tilio is.

I'm in full agreement we're a shambles and badly need modernisation in our thinking and our structure..

But using Kuhn to highlight this isn't a viable argument.

The fact we're discussing this in a the Tilio thread and he isn't in the ex-players thread, is again an utter shambles. And much more of an issue.

Kuhn wouldn't have kicked a ball again for us in any case, because he pretty much stopped kicking a ball for us in Jan. It would have been pointless blocking his transfer. Different mindset from our Japanese players. Kyogo was on the decline but not replacing him in the last window was again a shambles and one of the reasons it cost us the treble, along with injuries to Hatate and Jota.

The deal and fee for Kuhn was about right and most Celtic fans were happy to see the back of the petulant wee *.. even if he was outstanding for half a season.

The deal was done quickly giving us more than ample opportunity to get 2 quality wingers in, our inability to achieve that, thus far is a far bigger issue than letting an unhappy player go for a reasonable price early in the window.

I don't believe it was right. I don't believe he wouldn't have kicked a ball for us next season. We can disagree on this but none of these are statements of facts, they are opinions. Kuhn to me is a streaky player, when he's in form he is devastating, he showed that particularly in the CL and early part of the league. I don't think it was anything to do with his drop in form, maybe speculation may have affected them but I think it's some reach to say he stopped playing for us last season because his head was turned. Kyogo wasn't at his best last season, did he chuck it too? Hatate was poor there for a lot of Rodgers first season. Did he chuck it then?

Some players are a bit more mentally fragile than others and form shifts can be extreme. Idah is a classic example of this, he can really look a player on his game but when his confidence is low he doesn't look like he's not bothered. Nobody is putting his bad form down to wanting away. IMO we could have told any suitors for Kuhn, he's not going until we have an adequate replacement and until we get a fee of £20m+, I dont think Kuhn would have thrown the toys out of the pram and refused to play - there was absolutely nothing all out there in the public domain from him or his agents that we was forcing a move.

What occurred was that 16m was on offer and Celtic were delighted to push him out the door for it with zero plans in place about what to do. Exactly like what happened with Kyogo last season. Get him out the door regardless of the fact we have no plan to replace him.

It’s not a case of shoving him out the door. The fee we got for someone who had 6 very good months here, was reasonable. Kuhn was obviously happy to move on. He could have knocked the move back at the end of the day if he really wanted to stay as you seem to be suggesting.

I don't think it was reasonable. He was a player of the year nominee, a left footed right winger who are in short supply, 25 years old, missed very few games, 30+ G/A contributions, starred in the CL last season, 4 years left to run on his contract playing for a club extremely financially secure. We had no real pressure to sell but we pushed him out the door for a modest fee. We should have looked for a lot more IMO and played hardball until a club paid £20m. We'd still have a winger here a lot better than Tilio if we did.

It also creates a precedent, if you sell your players undervalue then you're going to struggle to get what they are worth. In our financial position we should not be selling before we are ready to sell. I'd love to have Kuhn here right now. If Kuhn was with us right now, the anxiety and panic would be nowhere near where it is now and people can slate him all they want now - we have a player who have us 30+ G/A last season out of our squad, a player who starred in the CL and was only second to Daizen for us last season. Why did we sell?

Rapid Vienna are putting pressure on Celtic to green-light a move for Marco Tilio before they move on to other targets.

Sky Sports News revealed earlier this month that the clubs have agreed a £350,000 loan deal, with an obligation to buy for £1.3m.

However, Celtic have since stalled on the move in the hope to bring in a winger before Tilio departs.

Rapid are prepared to wait a little bit for Australia international but - with one month left in the transfer window and the Austrian season starting today - the club have begun doing their due diligence on other wingers.

Listened to ACSOM and i agree with them about what does it say about our youth academy when we refuse to release a Marco Tillo who im not convinced is even a football player. Surely there must be a actual football payer in the youth system better than him? If there isnt what's the point of even having one.

Just let the boy go and promote Hatton until a winger comes in there isn’t much of a difference.

No halting of the Kuhn deal to get a replacement in but halting a deal for Tilio who I’d be happy to get rid of for free. Beyond a shambles.

Deserve all we get if they move on. * incompetent clowns running this club.

We should have about 3 wingers in the academy capable of contributing more than Tilio.
