I'd be astonished if they drop as many points this season tbh.

As it stands we have got weaker. Time will tell if they've got stronger.

We have added Simpson-Pusey, Inamura, Tierney, Nygren, Osmond and Yamada and all thats left is Taylor, Schlupp and Kuhn.

We'd be assuming that everyone we've signed is going to be worse than guys we had.

Could turn out Pusey is better than Starfelt, Inamura is better than Taylor, Nygren is better than Engels, Yamada better than Idah and the team is better than it was.

Aw yeah, i was trying to keep my post as short as possible and forgot to mention how we are also weaker!
Hopefully the signings I am hoping for arrive to change that but won't hold my breath.

Low confidence on the transfer dealings so far but the transfer window is open for a while yet, if no more come in then we will struggle in Europe and win the league and a cup if we are lucky, I really wish we would push on from positions of dominance instead of just enough to be ahead of the scum.

This right here is why I think, from my perspective, I'm so frustrated with the transfer window. It's not thay we've gone backwards, it's that we are arguably stagnant.

KT is an improvement on Taylor

Inamura albeit it is preseason, is looking like the bargain of the season (excluding KT as deal was done last season) and looks like he will offer such great depth of options for LB

Yamada, again preseason, but looks like he has the work ethic of Maeda and Kyogo of wanting to get about and involved.

Osmand looks like a fantastic young rotation option between him Yamada and Idah. We aren't exactly a club that can stockpile crazy talent for one position.

Nygren looks like he is also a bargain and between the central options of Bernardo, McCowan, Hatate, Engels and Nygren... that looks amazing on paper and if these players have wise heads on them, it's gonna mean they really try and knuckle down and compete for that starting spot because they could easily be dropped for the next person.

Like you say, in essence, of the players that actually played for us enough to have actually made an impact and make difference of those we've let go, we've only lost Kuhn.

If by some miracle we could just see something that hints at Celtic making a real serious push in the market to just finish off the issues at RW, and with JSP in at CB, maybe look at a strong option for LW so we can utilise Maeda through the middle we could be looking really really good.

But there just seems to be something in the air where it is suffocatingly thick with tension and frustration as our movements in the market seem to have gone a little flat

It seems clear that Martin is going to try to do an Ange impersonation with the Huns by employing an attacking, high tempo style designed to run over the top of the rest of the league. Whether he can do that very much remains to be seen, but at the very least you’d expect them to not be dropping points multiple matches in a row at home like they hilariously were last season.

At any rate, this would have been a good summer for us to push on with signings to really keep our foot on their throats. Because if it goes * up for them again, that’s another manager sacked and another costly rebuild. Our lack of action in the window and the unthinkable prospect of leaving it weaker than we entered it, feels like a missed opportunity.

As it stands just now, not very confident at all, we are a couple of injuries away from a really weak team.

Up to now, not very confident at all, We never build on a position of strength no matter how great the previous season was, that lot across the city seem to be getting their * together and as things stand it won't take a lot for them to catch up and then its back to pass the parcel for the league title every season the same way as it was with the old mob.

In Europe, I'm not feeling amazingly confident about the CL qualifier. Anyone who comes in now has missed our entire preseason and will need some time to integrate.

Domestically, I think the only honest answer I can give is that I don't know. I don't know what signings we will or won't make before the deadline and I don't know if Rangers are any good.
I guess I'll have answers to both those questions in about a month.

    Okay, my positive spin.

I'm happy with our goalkeeping depth. Three solid options and a backup that can genuinely challenge Kasper and push for number one longer term.

Our defensive options are definitely better than where we started last year with Tierney and Inamura a massive upgrade at left back. The loan CB suggests we are giving Trusty another year to prove himself but likely gives us someone Rodgers trusts more than Nawrocki. Murray coming back in with positive reports is an added bonus. We've also cleared lots out we needed off the books, with Welsh to follow.

In midfield, we have good depth and if we can add Bajcetic it'll be really strong. Bernardo and Engels have levels to go up, and Nygren looks a great option centrally. McArdle looks a great prospect too that will get minutes.

The front line. Maeda and Jota are absolutely the level of quality we need. Nygren I think will also play there too. We need two real quality wingers, especially one for the right and we will be in much better shape.

We are definitely weaker in the attacking section. Kuhn and Kyogo going past 6 months has taken a good 50 odd goals out the team from last season.

I think Yamada will be a success but I'd still like another striker. If we get 2 wingers in minimum then as well as that then it'll be looking better

I still worry about the midfield. Lacks pace and physicality.

I understand the window isn’t shut shouts but its the qualification for CL being left to chance that gets me the most.

    speculate to accumulate

That's how I see it. With Tierney, nygrenin were 1 winger away from stronger than last year. A team that made the knockouts. Last time we done that, we never sold a winger, we sold a spine.

The risk of it turning sour is huge considering we have away games att Ibrox and Pittodrie in the first month, but with a couple of good signings i think we will go on to win at least a double again this season.

I think we are more likely than not to win the league. More likely than not to narrowly qualofy for champions league. Less likely to hold our own in Europe assuming we get into champions league.

Think it was evident at the end of last season though that the team needed an injection of quality. More than just 1 or 2, IMO.

Nygren and Tierney bring that I think. Time will tell on the others.

If we can get 4-5 deals done of a good level before the end of the window we should be in better stead.

We are 2 quality wingers a way from being a very good side.

2 new wingers plus Nygren, KT and Pusey would give us that injection of quality and freshness.

We just need to get out finger out and get the right type of wingers in. Still sitting about £14m up from the last month's deals. Even if we only spend what we brought in on those 2 and don't touch any of the money we hoard in the bank we would be in a very good position

They won’t drop anywhere near as much outwith the derbies but I expect minimum 6 points from the head to heads this year.

Stylistically Martin will dominate and break down a low block better but i think his style against us will be a recipe for disaster for them.
