    hes back there fs

im not confident well get through this no matter if we sign 2 wingers a midfielder right back and center back

id love to ask the board room their feelings about champions league qualification each year and if they think we will get through the qualifying ?

seriously they should be made to compare the preparation the transfer dealing and the non qualification as a result as thats lost us money on umpteen occasions and they never get asked to explain themselves, isnt this part of the how well we are doing our job ?

maybe we need to put bonuses in place for champions league qualification on the board members since its our biggest earner of the whole season instead of what ever else their getting paid for

sorry i just want to rant rant rant all the time nowadays :56:

We'd need to play them one at a time though

The trouble with this kind of reasoning is that although it looks logically sound, it flies in the face of actual experience. Imagine it's 2015:

Malmo have Berget playing up front for them, we should be capable of beating them over 2 legs.

I mentioned Berget playing for Malmo in 2015 in response to Dazza saying we should beat Basel as they have Ajeti playing for them. Did you mean that Berget didn't play for Malmo or that Ajeti doesn't play for Basel?

Great. We know who's getting a brace at Celtic Park then if we draw Basel

I'm still a bit confused about what you mean TBH. Can't you just tell me?

Anyway, I Googled it and apparently both parts are correct: Berget did play for Malmo in that match, just as I remembered and Ajeti does play for Basel as Dazza said. So maybe my point was correct unless I'm missing something?

Avoid Basel (Swiss champions and Sturm Graz (Austrian champions) and we should be fine. However if we draw either of the 2 i’d say we’ve a 50/50 chance. The other 3 options we really should be beating quite comfortably.

Ajax were coasting that 2nd half - barely trying, and they easily put goals past us. The way we fail to defend has been ingrained into us for years now.

I am still unclear what John Kennedy is doing with the squad. Is he the defensive coach?

We never stop crosses, we never track runners, we ball watch all the time, which makes us embarrassingly susceptible to 1-2s, we lack aggression all over the park and we inexplicably seem to run backwards into a zonal defensive position any time the opposition get into our half.

This means we let them get right into the final third before we start sending 1 player at time out to close them down. Again with no real intensity or aggression.

We get away with this barely in the SPL, but against good opposition we are so exposed. Atalanta and Bayern were very much the exception to this, but I always feel we are unbelievably vulnerable at all times in Europe.

Let me share a suspicion with you, McGuire:

You mentioned the word "correcting". So I suspect you were being a bit of a grammar *. There's a line in my initial post that should have been in italics or quotes and you wanted to correct me on that, even though it's a casual post on a football forum and it was totally clear what I meant from the preceding line ("Imagine it's 2015:").

I wanted you to say it explicitly, so everyone could see how petty you were being; but I think you knew that, so you dodged and deflected and refused to answer a very simple question.

That's what I suspect; but I can't prove it, because you refuse to state your point explicitly.
