Every single time BR is asked about transfers, he says the same thing. That’s what is most worrying.

The player in this week will most likely be JSP.

He looks a good player but it's just kicking the can down the road. We've no chance of him staying beyond this season if he's successful.

    2015 vibes.

True. Just looking at the bigger picture and going glass half full, in the hope we're prioritising wingers now.

Glad to get this guy in to provide more cover, but I think it also shows what the club are thinking.

This is a stop gap measure rather than a genuine effort to build and move forward.

Its like they have spent on trusty last season and want to see how he goes again before making any real further investment. A certain amount of this is understandable but we have quite a few of these "wait and see if they kick on" players in our squad now that look to be stalling any further serious recruitment. Bernardo, Idah, Trusty and to a lesser extent maybe Engels would all fit that bracket. Guys I think we signed to be first choice players but havent totally convinced. If they dont improve we are looking at stalling.

We need to invest in a full time CB I think as Scales is not first team quality, Trusty may not be first team quality and CCV is fitness wise not totally reliable.

I doubt we are going to sign another CB now. Trusty should get a chance again at LCB though, for me. He's shown he's capable in Europe and has had a good pre season.

It is kicking the can but it least he should be better than we have at present. At least one winger in before Saturday and it’ll be not the worst week.

    100%.

Defended him like * last season. He was brilliant at times. Every time I defended him, he’d have a shocker soon after.

But we saw the same with Starfelt and his appearances became consistent.

His form dropped off a bit around the time he had stuff going on at home with his new born etc, combined with it being a clear issue just with underestimating the physicality of things.

I said earlier in the summer I reckon it could be like Kelvin Wilson, he took a season to properly settle and then had a great go at it.

A loan until next summer without an option to buy would be yet another sign Rodgers is for the off at the end of next season.

There seems to be such a disinterest in squad-building. You don't feel we're trying to build on what we already have or progress in any way.

Feels like the entire club from the board to the manager see this season as the final chapter before we start something new in 2026/27.

The problem is they're strengthening like daft across the city and we need to make sure we're well placed to combat that. I just see us stagnating instead.

I don't care if we are getting loan only loans in. If it improves the team im all for it.

I just hope this lads turns out to be another Jason Denayer, it’s got that kind of feel to it if it goes well.

I'm happy with this, he looks a great player, and epitomises the pace and power Brendan has been demanding for ages.

Good squad addition, starts at 3rd or 4th choice.

No option to buy is an absolute shocker, what does straight loan do for existing young players prospects?

    * insane we're coming into August without a credible link to a winger.

Does look Denayer style, runs forward with the ball, dribbles past players and passing through teams.

Closest we've had to that style since VVD and Denayer was probably Ajer and even the only other one like it Starfelt who wasn't really a dribbler but could burst past a guy or two.

Surely Man City aren't sending him up here to be 4th pick ? What would the point be for them.

Another deal with zero transfer fee attached to it.

It’s laughable at this stage. They obviously have no intention of spending proper money.
