Women's tennis and athletics is a really amazing watch, swimming too. They aren't 70 years behind though. The football isn't good though, will improve but it's not great.

The women’s game is decades behind the men’s with regards to investment though and it’s only in recent years that it’s really started to catch on.

The fact that there are full stadiums watching this is a testament to how far it’s come.

There’s been a fair bit of misogyny in the comments around the tournament (not talking about on here but in general across social media). How could anyone realistically expect it to be at the same level as the men’s game? It probably never will be, but if I had a daughter I’d want her to have the same opportunities to play both recreationally and professionally that men do. I’m glad that it’s being promoted.

Like you said, the fact it’s being promoted is great. Girls have every right to play football and make a career out of it. And the standard is improving with every generation and, actually, every year.
