It’s not about “we’ll sign players, don’t worry”.

We may well come out of the window having signed another 3 or 4 really good players.

The problem is how long it takes. We have some really big games between now and the end of the window and we’ll going into them massively under strength.

If we bag a winger and settle him in for the CL qualifier it should be good enough to get us there. We have a good first team barring a top RW.

Last week of the window will see us bring in another few to beef up the squad with good quality, then we go about going on a winning run and building confidence.

Ideally all the incomings would have been done by now but don't think it's realistic if we're looking for quality. No doubt that'll upset folk but am past giving a * :giggle1:

A winger and a striker are needed before the European deadline. The other signings can wait till closer to deadline day

There's no defending us not having at the absolute minimum, Kuhns replacement in by now.

I was pretty relaxed until the past few days. Rodgers comments don't fill me with confidence, though.

Our fans love going on about how much money we have etc and it's just boring now. Means little to me as a football fan if I'm not seeing the ambition on the park.

Watch the Ajax match back if you dare, but I wouldn’t recommend it.
It was a miserable evening for Celtic, and all the chat about the first-half satisfaction from the manager can get in the bin.
The simple truth, and it’s been said multiple times already, is that - friendly or not - the squad is not strong enough.
Even some in the mainstream media have criticised Celtic’s dire transfer window — and that should speak volumes.
Fans didn’t need more reasons to be frustrated, but when journalists who usually rely on staying in the club’s good books to gather information are calling it out, you know just how poor it’s been.
Listen, I won’t lie. I’ll own it and admit that earlier this window, I felt Celtic were cooking. Callum Osmand arrived and I genuinely still am confident he will succeed in Glasgow.
Benji Nygren looks like he’ll start every week. Kieran Tierney on a free is arguably the best piece of transfer business Michael Nicholson has EVER done.
But since that moment, it has been a shambles.
More than one winger MUST arrive at Celtic this window. And Michel Ange Balikwisha has been the name touted for.. maybe a year? Longer?

It’s not commonplace for a journo like me to shut things down, especially when the rumour mill runs. But I was told on July 2 that Balikwisha was unlikely to sign for Celtic.
Every single outlet in Scotland and Belgium reported it was close, so I kept my council. I reported nothing on the contrary. But the longer this saga goes on, the more I feel like my source was spot on.
I’m not saying it won’t happen. It will depend on desperation. I’m merely, finally, revealing what I was told by Belgian sources.
Jakob Breum, meanwhile, was the subject of a lowball bid from Celtic to Go Ahead Eagles, the same way Isak Jansson was at Rapid. I fear Balikwisha may have been the same since day dot.
Just because recruitment staff identify a player doesn’t mean the deal-makers will be successful.
Every word out of Brendan Rodgers’ mouth seems to be from a man resigned to the so-called “club signings” that are not the profile of the footballer he wants at Celtic Park.
With just a week to go until the season kicks off, Celtic need to get their house in order — and fast.
Because, with all due respect, this squad isn’t good enough. Not to cruise to a league title. Not to chase a treble. And certainly not to make a dent in the Champions League, if they manage to negotiate the playoffs.

Aye I'm now at the stage of annoyance tbh, held off a bit more than others but there's absolutely no excuse to not have a RW in by now.

I could handle LB and CB being a bit later in the window, and maybe LW early on in August, but to not have anyone signed to replace Kuhn is very poor.

Starting the season with Yang and Idah up top, with us shifting Maeda back to the left, is poor, and if the report about our bids for Breum are true, then that's poor even for us.

It's not that I dont think we'll get these players in, I think we will end the window with another 2 wingers, a CB at least, but considering we have a CL this season you'd think we'd be a bit faster.

It's a shame as I genuinely think we started this window very, very well. Tierney, Nygren, Yamada, Osmund and Inamura, then radio silence for weeks.

I dont fully agree with the notion that the Board and Rodgers are at odds and ends, but I do think there's a bit of disconnect there. Even if the window ended up being a bit poor in hindsight, Ange's second summer window was the most calm I was during a window in years

Really hope we see something concrete over the coming week.

Thing is we aren't even linked with exciting players.....hopefully a few come out the blue it can change quickly....but we are risking UCL qualification and losing ground early in the league as is stands with the squad as it is .

What is that assumption based on in terms of one winger sees us through the qualifier?

We don’t know who we are playing yet and with one winger brought in we still go into those games with literally nothing to bring on off the bench to change a game in attack.

A midfield of McGregor, Hatate and Nygren is likely going to be too open for a European tie especially away from home.

This full scenario makes no sense with the resources at our disposal to put us in a strong position to qualify where as just now we are turning it into a coin flip game at best.

I know we wouldn’t have everyone in place for a qualifier but you expect 1 or 2 players short not at least 4 saying Yamada is a hit but more realistically up to 6. Plus unless it’s a contract situation like Nygren we are never signing quality with the sort of bids we are throwing out for players just now.

We have left ourselves so much to do incoming that in our final preseason game last night we had 2 players we blatantly are keen to move on played, one of them that we actually have a deal lined up to sell included in Tilio.

There is no dressing up how shambolic this has been so far.

It's based on believing we're a good side who've had a tough but important pre-season schedule that will help us when the real stuff starts.

We're lacking in depth but Yamada, Yang and Forrest are useful players at the very least. I'd expect us as a collective to be confident of getting through the tie.

Why? We are favourites for the league and likely to win at least one of the cups.

Europe is what the inaction is really risking. That can still change.
