Got 2 years left on his deal so possibly even a loan to buy would suit us.

Sell Scales and Welsh and that would cover about half of his feet if we are gonna buy him

We'd likely try and offload Trusty, big wage and higher transfer fee

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Is Mark Lawell still on the books ?

Aye, but that's how we roll..

Scales probably easier to keep happy if not starting.

I think it’s Trusty, he’s rumoured to be wanting away, which isn’t surprising how he was dropped for Scales last year. You would expect Welsh will go to Belgium too.

I think we are giving Murray a shot at being CCVs cover.

Be a mistake to let Trusty go.

Especially when keeping Scales is the other option. Scales and Murray as back up...no convinced.

Suppose the argument is whether Trusty would want to stay as back up if we spend £10M on a centre back. We 100% should be pushing to keep him though and offload Scales.

Scales is good enough for SPFL it would appear. Trusty was anything but so I’d expect us to try and recoup some of the outlay on Trusty and buy another CB. It’s the only way we can make financial sense of it.

Scales got torn apart just as much domestically as Trusty. Trusty at least has a bit more pace & power.

This idea that Trusty has never once had a good game in Scotland needs to get in the bin ffs

    Absolute nonsense.

Regardless, it would make sense to keep the player who looks better suited to Europe, surely.

There’s absolutely no way we are selling scales and keeping Trusty.

Celtic are checking out Swedish centre half Viktor Eriksson in European action for Hammerby.

Boss Brendan Rodgers has sent top scout Paul Tidsdale to watch Eriksson against Belgian side Charleroi on Thursday night.

Eriksson has been a star for Hammerby on his return from a short spell with Minnesota in the MLS.

He is a straightforward defender who would give Celtic extra competition in central defence - and he is available at a bargain £2 million.

Celtic recently signed winger Benjamin Nygren and have a strong tradition with Swedish players.
