Celtic will begin their defence of the Premier Sports Cup with a home game against Falkirk.

The draw for the last 16 of the competition was made today (Sunday), and Brendan Rodgers’ side have been given home advantage against Premiership new boys, Falkirk.

John McGlynn’s side qualified for this stage of the competition after finishing top of their group ahead of Cove Rangers, Queen’s Park, Spartans and Brechin City, recording three wins and a draw.

The last 16 ties are scheduled for the weekend of August 16/17. Further information on Celtic’s fixture against Falkirk to follow.

Still be a Saturday, they'd have to set the date before the play off anyway and need to prepare for it being a Tuesday

Ok. I thought they might make a last minute switch after the draw.

Don't think it matters. We've had a few Wednesday games last couple of years and we've always played Saturday lunch time if on TV

Glad as always its a home draw. Could end up being a very tricky tie like last season's was when we started with a largely second string lineup and fell behind and then had to bring on the front line guys in the second half to get the win.
