The problem with Forrest is he'll get injured again and be out for months. He's a good option when he's fit but he spends more time out injured than he does available.

I like forrest but an entire season and it takes to the last second to finally score a goal isnt good enough. Yang done more. Let that sink in.

Forrest is a much better player than Yang

Better get a solid preseason in at this rate he is going to be the main man again like the end of 23/24 season.

Forrest also can't play 90 and spends majority of the season out injured. At 35 now, you simply cannot realistically expect him to be a main winger.

Dont think anyone is suggesting he should be the main winger, he's a good option though. Also, hes only just turned 34

34 then. Its still old for a winger and his injury record is worse than most. As much as I loved seeing him become the most successful ever Celtic player I don't think he's a reliable option. Great player when fit, but its not enough of the season.

Forrest has to be regarded as one of celtics most under appreciated players.

For the last 4-5 years fans keep saying that he should be no were near the squad yet he keeps but once again he makes a difference.

It's unfair if the burden is thrown on to Forrest's shoulders...if we don't bring in 2 top wingers in the coming weeks it's absolute neglect once again by the Celtic board.

He's still first choice for me atm. Maeda left and him right. That says it all really. We badly need reinforcements.

I certainly would still take Forrest over Yang without hesitation for me.

Based on the tail end of last season I’d be starting him at the weekend, he won’t let us down however depressing it may be that we haven’t strengthened the wing positions in the market yet.

He's 34. Don't know why folk keep adding a year to him haha.

Last season was an anomaly in recent years.

He hasn't been a constant sick note for a long time.

For me he still has by far the best attacking decision making of the whole squad.

Last season wasn't a one off.

24/25 - 33 appearances in all comps. Of the remaining 24 games, he was an unused sub in 2.
23/24 - 28 appearances in all comps. Of the remaining 19 games, he was an unused sub in 9.
22/23 - 23 appearances in all comps. Of the remaining 29 games, he was unused sub in 19.
21/22 - 32 appearances in all comps. Of the remaining 22 games, he was an unused sub in 6.

So last 4 seasons, 116 appearances made, while sitting out 94 games, 36 of which as an unused sub.

We all love JF and appreciate all that he has done for the club and has enjoyed a lot of success, but to say that last season was an aboration is not a true reflection, as the stats support.

The season before last he was one of main reasons we won the league his performances after Christmas was exceptional and that is after fans saying that he should not be anywhere near the squad and selfish for not leaving.

Last season yes he was injured but in the games he did play he made a difference and rarely let us down .

Preseason - he looked our most composed and dangerous player.

It is ridiculous that the board hasn't strengthened our wingers and that we are having to rely on forrest but in regards quality I have no worry at all.

Im more concerned that we continue to put maeda out on the left wing rather than through the middle just so Brenda can play idah.
