    Done him a favour.

He's instantly became 1st choice striker off the back of that tonight.

Hopefully of it's an injury it's just a precaution and not anything serious

Whether he's the answer or not remains to be seen. But I have no doubts he'll be an upgrade on Idah.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed Shin Yamada was removed from the Celtic team sheet for the Como Cup tie against Ajax due to UEFA red tape.

The Japanese striker had been listed in the Celtic squad but his name was then removed from the team news graphic on social media.

Shin travelled with Celtic to Como and was involved in training ahead of the fixture, but was prevented from playing due to a registration issue.

Rodgers revealed that Celtic were only made aware of the problem an hour ahead of kick-off with the match against Ajax, an official UEFA fixture.

Late on, we were told he wasn't registered," explained Rodgers. "He couldn't play in the game. It was a UEFA game.

"I think we thought it would be through, he came with us and travelled, but then late on, an hour before the game, we were told he wasn't [able to play]."

Quizzed on whether Shin could feature against Al Ahli on Saturday in the third-place match, Rodgers added: "We hope so.

"Hopefully, for the player. Let's see how that goes tomorrow."

How was tonight an official UEFA game?

That would assume that the cono-alhaly game was also an official UEFA game, but how does that factor in when one of those teams isn't an uefa club?

    * bizarre from uefa, he wasn't properly registered so the result of a friendly will be void and recorded as a 3-0 defeat, oh no! Should have just said get it up ye and put him in anyway.

Looks like the expectations in this guy is gonna be high due to our shambolic recruitment ways and Idah looking pish. Hopefully gets a fair chance to impress and we don't write him off too quick.

I think it is a club issue. The board did not register him for a game where you need to be registered. Rhey acted as incompetent as they do in the transfer market.

Not everything has to be about our big bad board, some teams play trialists in friendlies, this just reeks of a jobsworth uefa official having a weirdo power trip because they can.

If that is the case, how come we registered Nyhren and Inamura? It is quite clearly Celtic registering only two out of 3 signings, otherwise they would also be pulled off the team sheet.

Could obviously be that the club did not know this. But they should.

    Agreed.

Who knew a 3-0 defeat would've been a better result anyway?

Looks handy. I think he'll need to be cuter with his challenges or he'll have every ref giving fouls against him constantly.
