Genuine question, though, mate: why do you dislike Powell? I don't like him either, but most people on the left don't have an issue with him. Just out of curiosity.

I'm not worried about the window per se. I think we'll get the players we need eventually. I am worried about getting the players we need in time to get them integrated before the CL qualifier. The clock is really ticking on that one.

I know it looks like I'm contradicting myself, as I said I was relaxed about the qualifier on the grounds that if we aren't good enough to win it, we are better off out of the CL; but that doesn't follow if we go into the qualifier with a weaker team than we will have when the window closes.

Harsh.... Al Powell is a hero of the infamous Nakatomi Plaza incident of December 88.

I doubt Jerome Powell has ever heard of Enoch Powell TBH. :56:

Edit: although I'm sure he'll have heard of Colin Powell, so maybe you were thinking of Iraq.

The league starts next week though. We are focussing on the euro qualifier when we have Aberdeen and Rangers both away in August. If last seasons form carries, a win against Aberdeen is by no means a gimmie, and a win against rangers is probably unlikely.

We are going to start the league with guys like Scales, Yang, Forest, and Kenny, being realistic starters. With 70m in the bank. It should be utterly unacceptable.

Said it before and will again if board give him £10m for this window he will be doing well.

Going by fees he has spent £3.5m of it.

£6.5m ain't getting what we need.

Feeling worried about the rest of the window but simultaneously unsurprised.

I doubt there will be any serious transfer action, until they come back home.

Expecting Rodgers to be kicking down the board room door Monday morning, and not leave till we've got 3 in. Let Kennedy do the coaching.

Anyone still remotely trying to defend the board or our transfer strategy at this stage is either a troll or a hun.

Is Orjasaeter moving or what? Get back to negotiations if not meet them half way, decent sell on fee. He'd be here in half n hour if hes still carrying his passport.

Charlton Athletic, yeah * Charlton just spunked 5mil on a player. But yeah, its hard to do deals.

Biggest lie ever told on these boards, its hard to get deals done. Its hard for Celtic to get deals done. There you go, corrected and its not a lie anymore

Cant say I've checked the player. Thats irrelevant tho, we are spoon fed bullshit that its hard to do deals. Look across Europe, everyone else seems to get on ok.

Charlton asked a valuation they received one and a deal was done.
