Different times, then there was no closed ST waiting list and the old board didn't have £80m+ in the bank or they'd still be in charge, I've no idea how we get this board modernised and fit for purpose

I always feel that the Celtic board story sounds like a pretty typcial struggle between old and new that was going on in so many companies and industries across the 80s and 90s. There was an old guard who saw their roles as custodians of tradition and being there to preseve what existed. And a mew guard which was there to grow, transform, and ensure companies reached their potential.

The new world brought better and safer stadiums, more money to spend on more glamourous players, and a more welcoming experience for women and children to enjoy the game. But it was also the start of treating fans as consumers and selling them a product rather than them genuinely feeling part of something.

Whether the change happened with Fergus or someone else, it was always going to happen. From a Celtic fan perspective, we are lucky it happened when it did.

The only language this board understands is money.
If you hit them in the pocket then they would take notice.

There's only 2 ways of doing that. One is season tickets which is just never going to happen, we have a situation were the demand is greater than the supply so no matter what's going on 99% of fans will renew every year out of fear of losing their season book for years, myself included.

2nd way of doing it is merchandise, the constant social media posts advertising strips, training gear, bucket hats, pyjamas etc show were their interests lie, all they want is too squeeze as much cash out of us 'customers' as they can.

Supporters would need to come together and boycott any official club merchandise, not just that they would need to announce it and make it known exactly why they are doing it.

The problems with that are, there is no Celts for Change type of group amongst the support. The most vocal element of the support is the Green Brigade so logically they'd be the ones best place to lead such a campaign, however there are mixed feelings towards them in the support for certain things so the chances of them uniting the support are unlikely.
Secondly you see the amount of arguing on this forum regarding the actions of the board, that's just a small sample size of the support so no matter what you would get supporters who would refuse to engage in a campaign against the board.
Thirdly, parents are under so much pressure from kids to buy them the new strips every other month, how do u explain to an 8 year old you won't buy him the new strips because the club is being run by a bunch of fat, auld, Tory * who have a love of bonuses and hoarding out cash.

So the reality is there's very little we can do, the board know this and it's why the continue to get worse every year.

When Fergus McCann, saved us one of his key objectives was that no one group would ever get the control of our club again. Financially we are in a different world to back then but in many ways I don't think this current board are really any better than the old one.
Like them they continually hold us back, we are failing on multiple fronts in terms of the structure of the club; recruitment, scouting, youth academy, woman's team all mainly due to their out of date thinking, lack of investment and job for the boys culture.
We have a stadium that is starting to look out dated in certain places, again not at the level of the 90s but anyone who's ever had to use the toilets in the main stand would argue that the stadium is hardly modern or fit for purpose.
The level of bonuses these guys get, many are not linked to on the pitch success, has led to a situation where supporters are questioning their motives and reasoning for stockpiling so much cash in the bank. Similar to the old board the impression is they are self serving rather than doing their jobs which is to serve the fans.

We all want to better organised with a modern model.. but we're miles away from this ..

Frustrating at times, yes .. but our dominance domestically has been on an unbelievable level
