Annoying thing is, there's countless quality players across the globe we can attract within our budget. But we are fed * about the market being tough etc every summer.

I don't doubt that it's difficult for us to eat into the £10m+ market consistently, but guys like Nygren, Munteanu, Strelec, Sulc at Plzen, etc. Leagues across Europe hoaching with players who on paper would improve us, young enough with European and international experience.

You can instantly see with Nygren what he's gonna bring to us. That should be the standard we aim for. Not Scales, Yang, Tilio, Idah etc.

It's so frustrating to sit and know what we could do. Yet apparently seem unwilling to, consistently.

It’s not the last week of August, so we won’t.

It’s only possible for Celtic to spend money on players from August 20th on.

Liverpool are the perfect example that transfers are not difficult, and they are dealing with deals 10X more than ours.

Identify your targets. Pay the money. Get the player on board and get them in early.

It’s genuinely so embarrassing. We are a laughing stock.

They can sign any player on the planet and that player will not wait to see what other offers come in, far easier for them and the big deals to be done early .
We are still a shambles don't get me wrong but we are in a far more competitive market as we are not the biggest show in town and players don't just drop everything to sign for us unfortunately .

I mean, if Liverpool ask you to sign, you basically ask your agent if he's had any calls from Real Madrid or Bayern and if the answer's "no", you sign. We're not quite that far up the food chain, mate. :giggle1:

As for where we are in the food chain these days, somewhere between Accrington Stanley and the Albanian State Washing Machine Company's work team seems about right (with apologies to Red Dwarf).

Liverpool have one of the best recruitment departments in the world, have the money, and appeal to 99% of professional players, but other than that, perfect example.

We definitely could do better though, I really would love to know what our recruitment is like because it seems so poor.

Watching the game today, I quite liked the look of Dane Murray and nygren. I think Idah is average at best and so weak for someone so big. He also seems really lazy, like he’s not really trying.

We need to sign a striker who can guarantee goals, a centre back to partner CCV and winger to replace Kuhn. That’s the most urgent signings for me.

Would love to see us sign Callum Wilson for a couple of seasons but can’t see us willing to make a move like that.

Liverpool fans for years have been getting frustrated as * at their transfer business. This season they’ve went all out.

They’re also one of the biggest teams in the world, just won the Premiership, are very well run regarding FFP and have the means to pay a fuckload. They don’t need to think twice about if a player would find them attractive to go to. They will.

We wouldn’t consider it, just double checked his injury record and the past 2 seasons he’s missed 61 games through injury. With last season being worse than the season before, was injured for a total of 191 days, 2 separate types of injury.

Looking at the injury over the last 4/5 years, his hamstrings are absolutely *, 5 seasons and 9 hamstring injuries. Cracking player but we’d be daft to.

We need new players in but I don’t think Rodger’s can be trusted to spend wise anymore.

Executive decisions bringing some of the new bhoys in he’s being bypassed completely.

This all day long. Man City had 4 players in for the start of the world club cup. Paying decent money. It can be done. Como and Kuhn. Like you said Liverpool have absolutely bossed this window.

Folk are pretending to be cool, aye patience, we've plenty time. Haven't you seen how Celtic Operate. The window is 2 and a half months. You have close to £80m sitting in the bank. Theres zero to stop you doing work prior to the window opening to get these concluded ASAP once it opens.

We've needed wingers in since the season ended. Criminal this hasn't been sorted by now. LCB as well. Striker on top of that.

What the * are people in the club doing. By not acting, knowing there's positions to be sorted. That's negligence.

We operate in a different market to Liverpool. And in that market there's still no reason to be proactive within it. We're choosing not to. You do that by scouting properly. Then acting on that. The scouting part I'm sure we're fine at. But it breaks down once contact and decions amd negotiating comes in to it. Its us. Its our parochial ways.

There's no excuses. Every other club in world football manages to go out and sign players yet we have folk defending our board when they do the bare minimum to keep us slightly ahead.

The minimum should be spending the money we have brought in. We don't even seem willing to do that. Instead we just continue to hoard cash with the rainy day excuse being trotted out. How much do we need sitting in the bank in the event of CL qualification failure ?

Imagine we * that up and the huns made it into the group stages. The swing in their favour would be massive, and they would go out and strengthen with the extra money.

    * know what's going on but it's getting closer and closer to panic stations.
