The squad depth is a disgrace for a club with our resources and supposed ambition.

There’s a guaranteed starter or two in there that I’m not exactly enamoured with either but that’s just a personal opinion.

We’re around 5-6 quality first team players short of where we should be, and there’s no chance of that happening as we’re only capable of negotiating one deal at one time.

Hopefully we’re monitoring some situations and keeping tabs on some others.

Why is it each transfer period this same turgid *? We have financial reserves that grants us the choice to plan our business ahead. We knew Kuhn was leaving, why in the world didnt we have his replacement lined up?

I often read that maybe the board are not backing BR because he might leave? That would be the biggest load of crap any football board could do!

i also follow Stuttgart very closely, this morning the news came Millot is joining Atletico Madrid. And now the news that his replacement is joining them next Monday in trainingscamp. 20 in 18(plus add-ons) out. A couple of hours apart from eachother. Foreward planning…

Why dont we see this? I get that we are in a difficult league, but season after season there is hope that our business will be different. But by now I resigned to the fact it will be the last 3/4 days of the transfer market before anything moves. Whats wrong with having a settled squad for the start of the season, all players together for pre-season? Its so frustrating that there is no development on our transfer business.

And on the Antwerp lad. Apparently we were in contact with Antwerp early July, since then NOTHING from our side. No further negotiations with either the players or the club.

And normally I am one of the positive minded ones. But just cant get my head around the fact with so much cash in the bank, we cannot do our business sooner!

Normal, ambitious football clubs operate in this way.

Some of our fans who don’t follow football anywhere other than Scotland think the way we do business is acceptable.

This is because the only point of reference or comparison they have is that of Rangers, a financial wreck, and one of the worst run football clubs in Europe.

    9 days til opening game.
One more friendly to go, against the Saudi mob, take from it what we can.

The managers crying out for players he can use NOW to win games!

Idah looks like he won a ticket to play in a charity game and is keeping his kebab warm in the microwave for full time.

The defense, for all the will and good positivity in the world, needs help! Ralston, Murray and Scales as starters all summer!

The midfield lacking a hard * and we continue to play McGregor too deep to hide the fact we do not have one.

Lacking wingers so much, that we are forcing Maeda to play through whe. He is clearly off it. And we resort to an aging Forrest as the only alternative to * Yang!

    Any * chance Celtic?!

How we dont have a new striker, right winger and centre half at this stage of the season is * shambolic.

Ive said it often but Rangers being liquidated has offerered the perfect excuse for the boards lack of ambition and their ability to coast. They have managed to frame avoiding going bust and the need for a 70m pound cushion as normal when in fact not going bust and spending the vast majority of money you make is the norm.

Aye, this game should raise some alarm bells.

Fantastic results against Sporting and Newcastle, and obviously a pre season game isnt everything, but our squad depth is poor.

Said it before, a game like today's isnt the end of the world, hopefully its a major kick up the * for us to realise we're still miles off it.

Going into the first game of the season with Idah and Yang starting isnt good enough.

Crying out for some fresh faces up top and the defence is rotten without Tierney and AJ

Think this result has showed we not only lack depth in this squad but we lack real quality as well.

There is no way with the squad we have we are competing in all fronts this season. Absolutely not.

6 year curse coming into affect....2002 almost everything but got nothing...end of Strachan era 2008...lacklustre deila season 2014, COVID 2020...penny pinching 2026.

Transition to mediocrity to allow them to catch up a little bit in the league

    Getting concerned now.

Need movement quickly. Looking at our squad and knowing how much money we have...just negligence taking this long.

For one or two players, aye..but cmon. Kuhn is standing on the touchline there tonight with 2 weeks of a Como tan behind him and we've still not replaced him.

Forrest is 5th choice at best now, too.

Even if we get our fingers out it will be 4-6 weeks at the earliest before players have a chance to settle.

Its * criminal but we do it evey year. There are still some who rejoice in our transfer strategy, clowns.

Look at it this way: if we ever want to win anything non-domestic before Brendan leaves and we end up with Neil Deila or Ronny Mowbray as our next 2 managers, we need to have a good enough window to have a team good enough to have a chance of winning the EL and we need to get those players in late enough to lose the CL qualifier.

It's all going to plan. [insert ostrich with head in sand image]

Only thing i can think of is we've had a few deals fall through.

Defo think we thought we were getting the boy from Austria for the wings, oddly quiet on winger front outside Balikwisha, who is clearly our backup option.

Very quiet on CB, my worry is we go with the 4 we have, been playing Murray an awful lot in pre season.

    Zero RW rumours either.

If there's absolutely nothing new by Monday, I will be worried, need another 4 signings before the window shuts, but I'm concerned we'll get another 2 at best.

If we get anyone in next week, gonna take time to get them up to speed. We're seriously risking CL qualification. Why do we do it to ourselves.

Don’t panic lads, it’s only July.

Don’t look too much into the fact Celtic always leave it last minute and have a track record of over promising and under delivering in the transfer market.
