Out wide we need immediate reinforcement without question.

Im guessing in most of the other positions they are assessing the levels of the guys they have brought in and the guys they bought last year.

Idah realistically was not bought as a back up. We expected him to take over from kyogo. Given what we spent its unlikely we are going to give up on him after 1 season. They may want to see if yamada is capable of providing immediate contribution or do we need another forward.

I think its similar story with trusty. They dont want to write him off yet and dont want to have him sitting on the bench.

Inamura, prob still trying to assess if he can act as back up to kt this year or do we need another.

Midfield, well rodgers will flog mcgregor to death regardless of who we sign there i suppose.

There is urgency around the wide men. We prob have a bit more time to assess the rest before window shuts.

The time it takes us to finalise a deal, we'll be lucky to get 1 or 2 in before the window closes when we could be doing with 4 or 5.

We're the fools really. Expecting things to be better, different, streamlined, efficient. We have the money to make it that way. But nah. Stick with what worked in early 00's. Watch smaller teams for smaller countries catch and pass us by.

We're saving money for a rainy day, which is probably not qualifying for CL, which is ironic as these * thay run is are the most likely reason we won't qualify, due their risk averse slow, tight business ways.

But strips, merchandise a plenty. Subscribe and pay for training videos. Little communication with fans unless its a birthday or annoyed at the GB.

Patience is what's being asked for. That Patience has been eroded due to poor windows that pass by.

Entitled is what we're labelled as, yup. We're entitled as fans to want the best for this FOOTBALL CLUB. To be run as a progressive modern FOOTBALL CLUB.

We as fans are absolutely entitled to want the best for our FOOTBALL CLUB. As is was once said by a great man. Football without the fans is nothing. Pity the business folk don't see it like that. Take care of the football side. The rest will fall in to place and order.

Now get a move on and get the quality in thats been lost.

    The McGregor situation is concerning.

We really need a defensive midfield enforcer brought in this window, with a view to replacing/shifting McGregor from the No.6 slot. He's 32 now, and was over played last year. We really can't afford to go into another Champions League and SPL campaign with McGregor at No.6 much longer, and the more he frays at the edges. Not if we want to build on last year's Champions League performances and remain dominant at home, imo.

Yeah id agree but rodgers seems pretty wedded to that midfield set up and theres prob no point in bringing in a defensive mid to just sit on the bench.

Scott Burns in his lunch hour update

Celtic are still very much in the fight for Michel-Ange Balikwisha.

The agent has said there hasn’t been contact but there have been discussions between the clubs.

Antwerp also know the player wants to move to Scotland.

It is now to see what is the best deal they can get for him as his contract runs down.

There were reports that Celtic have had a £1.5 million bid for Danish winger Jakob Breum from Go Ahead Eagles turned down.

Danish sources have dismissed that and claimed Celtic’s interest hasn’t been renewed.

The Hoops are also looking for a main striker and another midfielder remains a top priority.

If only we'd had time to prepare for such a scenario.......no doubt come the January window it'll dawn on them that we need a few wingers.

When Kyogo left in January they said they had an idea he wanted away last summer.

So really we've had about a year to replace him now. As surely to * you would start ball rolling for a replacement when he makes you aware he wanted away. Right?

The replacement was probably idah. We may think hes not good enough, but id say we spent 9m on him as our next main striker post kyogo

I'm not sure that's the case. Didn't we try to sign the big Slovak guy Strelec in January after Kyogo left? Makes you wonder why we haven't gone back in for him.

He mainly discussed Balikwisha first before mentioning a striker and midfielder.

I genuinely don’t believe anyone in the Scottish press has a clue what’s going on with us. Most of our links emerge from press overseas. Outgoings as well, Lagerbielke, Nawrocki, Kwon, Tilio, and Kuhn was all either journalists in the market they were going too or in Kuhn’s case a German who had been following the story because of Leipzigs interest.

I think these things are more variable and fluid in the background than they seem.

Im speculating but i would say last season we werent planning to sell kyogo in jan. We were aware he wanted to move on but prob thought we would get the full season out of him.

Good bid comes in jan for him so they make the call to sell. We have idah there who the club feel jury may still be out on as to whether he can be msin striker. So they explore other options. Given we have a healthy league lead and the prices quoted for our targets seem high, we opt to bring in jota and use maeda as an auxillary striker if needed for rest of season.

Maeda does way better than than either kyogo or idah so now the situation changes. Do we want to consider him our main striker or move him back to wing. What about idah? Are we going to give up on him having spent 9m or do we stick with him and see if he develops. Our scouts like this guy yamada. We plan to bring him in. How will he fit into the picture? We need to assess him when he gets here. Jota now has picked up a long term injury. Kuhns agent has phoned and has said he wants to leave this summer. That changes the picture again.

    Etc etc

It's mad how many of our fans wind themselves up about the lack of rumours, when it's been obvious for years now we've stamped out most of the leaks on our transfer business and nobody in the media here really gets a sniff of what we're doing from our end. No rumours must mean we're not trying to sign anyone though.

Just over a week till the season starts and overall we still need 4/5 signings not just any signings proper first team ready players as well.
