If he was our first choice and we were his this would be done by now.

Royal Antwerp boss Stef Wils admits it is "possible" that Michel-Ange Balikwisha will leave the club soon amid interest from Celtic.


Talks over a move that would bring the wide man to Parkhead have been ongoing as Brendan Rodgers looks to add the winger as a successor to Nicolas Kuhn after his £17.2million move to Como.


The 24-year-old has been a long-term target for the Scottish Premiership champions and reports suggest he is keen on the move.


Cash-strapped Antwerp are also on the brink of a summer fire sale with wide man Balikwisha among the players that the Belgian side are keen to move, after he entered the final year of his contract.

Despite this, boss WIls has consistently picked the forward in his pre-season squads - with Balikwisha scoring on Saturday in the win over Willem II.

Asked by Nieuwblad if the sale of the winger was on the cards imminently, Wils said: "That's possible, yes


I’m just working with the guys who are here at the moment. They all have the qualities to play here, so it would be foolish not to use them."

 

If they are needing a fire sale I’d be pushing for Van Den Bosch their centre back, only a year left on his contract as well.

Exactly fs. Still a lot of monitoring to be done and Jamesy Forrest is good for at least another 2 seasons.

 

I agree with @Foley1888's assessment on him a few pages back, I think if he did come here, he'd do better than a lot of people think, and I think the reaction to him is a bit OTT.

At the same time, his injury record is pretty bad, and I think it's clear he's not our first choice winger. He doesn't look slow but not the fastest either.

I think the rags are just regurgitating links and updates on this guy when there are none tbh since other incoming links have stalled.

 

Definitely don't think he's 1st choice.

Get the impression he's the back up to whoever it is which in 1 hand is promising bcoz I think this lad looks decent so if we are in for someone better then that's a positive but the question then is how long so you wait?
We have play off in 4 weeks so ideally you want them bedded in by then. You also risk losing the back up option and end up scrambling about for a 3rd choice.

I suspect the 1st choice may be Orjasaeter

Zeno Van Den Bosch, would be unreal! Surprised he hasnt moved yet tbh, in the winter the likes of Stuttgart and Inter were after him. maybe been told to run down his contract and leave for free?

I think we are waaaayyy past any of our first choices for the rest of the window.
Likely already through the 2nd choices and getting into 3rd / panic territory.

 

Aye it’s a strange one, surely they would want to cash in now if they could and would be a coup as well for anything under £8M. A market we should be all over.

To be honest, I’m more excited to see Nygren fully up to speed than I would be about us signing this guy.

Seems a bit too dear for what I’ve seen and read in my opinion.
