  2. No chance this lad is getting loaned out - KT will have to watch out!

  3. I feel like he should be playing as one of those defensive midfielders that drops and splits the centre backs taking the ball from the keeper and just runs the game. He has such a cracking left foot and vision to play the ball about. He was trying his best to be aggressive in the tackle but was a bit ragged at times.

However, the positives definitely outweigh that and for me it is about finding where he can best influence games. Left back he looks an option given he hasn’t played there much but looks fine already. With more experience he could really kick on.

  4. Would be very interesting to know how he’s showing up in training. If he’s impressing in training too then we may have landed ourselves a very good player, he has to be given a good amount of game time against Newcastle.

  5. Aye think this one is taking us all, Rodgers included, by surprise.
The stumble upon a gem moment we can sometimes have?

  6. The only red flag I see in his game so far is a lack of strength and that can certainly be worked on. He looks excellent on the ball, always looking to play forward and been really impressed by his mobility and pace. He doesn’t look scared of a tackle either, just lacks a bit of physicality.

Dare I say it, our left back of the last 6 years wasn’t exactly a physical powerhouse. This lad could well be an immediate upgrade and more than ready to play back up to KT. Hopefully he keeps impressing because the best thing for him settling and developing would be to stay around our first team with the help of a few compatriots.

  7. Rodgers spoke about it already after his first game, basically said was pleasantly surprised by how good he was in training already.

  8. Worth remembering he'll be ahead of our and opposing players in terms of fitness having come mid-season

  9. He’ll take time to adjust to the physical side but given a year to add some mass he’ll be grand. Could be an upgrade on Taylor already.

  10. Some of his vision and passing is Reo-esque....
Done himself no harm so far .

  11. On the ball he definitely will be. Tbh I doubt he will end up any less physical either. He's also faster.

  12. Thats LB sorted imo. KT and Inamura will do just fine. The guy looks a ridiculous talent. Oh * i love our Japanese success. Long may it continue.

  13. Is there any notable versatility in his style.of play. Could he be cover at LB and as CDM?

  14. Wish we had spent £4.25m on him so those moaning about our lack of spend would have felt satisfied.

  15. Its hard to say really, but given that he’s never really played full back much and how well he’s slotted in there I wouldn’t be surprised if he could… reads the game very well and his passing is impressive.

  16. @King Kwon Inamura touches vs Sporting incoming?

  17. I suppose an advantage he's had is he's match fit, he's been playing since March. He won't need to get his fitness back or lose a kg or 2 to get to ideal weight.

Could do to actually put on a couple of kilos. Especially if the club see his long term future at centre back. Definitely a left back for me.
