Was thinking why Celtic have not really announced signings, just a slew of releases, which has not just left quite a hole in the squad but like at least 5-6 strongest XI starters that need replacing. There was the announcement of Stuart McGuire a little while ago to oversee all of this, and I'm wondering if they are seriously scouting at the current ongoing Euros and will be recruiting a bunch of properly experienced Internationals.

So just out of interest, but for anyone paying particular attention to the Euros, any GK, CB, LB, LW/LM, CM and CF's they may be looking at?

The only signing I really want to see right now is a new manager

That too... but considering the new season is about 5-6 weeks away it's clear that the club is sticking with Sadiku and releasing the number of players at this point seems that this where we are at just now.

Half the squad gone. No new signings. Team is back for pre-season and the manager is too busy working on Swedish TV after a disastrous season. The * is she playing at?

The men's team is getting weaker by the season. The women's team is just being neglected.

Bit of a meh signing, 33 years old and wasn't deemed good enough 12 months ago.

    Pish signing.

Would be like the men’s side bringing back Turnbull. And she’s 33 so even worse.

Letting Harrison go to Glasgow City completely free.

    I’m hating this.

I think it's obvious they know Sadiku is *, they don't want to pay her off so aren't going to invest in her team this year.

Harrison was a bit *, although that's probably on Sadiku, and can imagine Harrison wanted out.

As far as I know, the only player that has joined Celtic so far this summer has been Lisa Robertson, who is returning to the Hoops after 1 year at Hearts. Wasn't like she was totally dominating in MF there, but this is where we are... a player who was released a year ago so Sadiku could bring in the Carsten twins from her former club. Signe Carsten lasted about 5 months and Mathilde Carsten left earlier this summer, and now the club have brought back Robertson.

So as things stand, by the business end of the season in April & May 2026, our CM is going to be 34yr Robertson alongside a 38y.o. Natalie Ross. :97:

Seriously, there had better be a slew of signings incoming as soon as the Euros are over, otherwise if people thought this past season was underwhelming ain't seen nothing yet. Still only have 1 striker at the club with 3 released (including Harrison to City, but also Kit Loferski & Murphy Agnew left), a LW/LM to replace the departed LAC, a LB to replace the departed Barclais, and a first choice GK to replace the departed Kelsey Daugherty, while still need to bring in a proper replacement for Caitlin Hayes, who left back in January, as all those that they tried there since then have been found seriously wanting, so the team need a proper partner for Kelly Clark in the heart of defence.

And that isn't even counting hoping that Chloe Craig is able to fully come back from her ACL that wrote her off for pretty much the entire of last season, and even if she does, does she switch to RM or does Emma Lawton get pushed forward and Craig return to RB?

A lot of unanswered questions and still virtually no answers, and the only one we have had is not exactly inspiring confidence in the recruitment so far and getting the team ready for the new season, which starts in roughly 4 weeks.

Celtic FC Women are delighted to announce the signing of Claire Walsh ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The Republic of Ireland internationalist joins the Hoops from Glasgow City on a one-year deal, adding further quality to Elena Sadiku’s squad as preparations continue for the new campaign.

Walsh came through the US college system at Central Connecticut State University and also played for New England Mutiny, before moving back to Ireland.

She featured for UCD Waves and Peamount United, helping the latter to two league titles and an FAI Cup triumph.

In July 2021, she made the move to Scotland, signing a professional deal with Glasgow City. During her time there, she made over 100 appearances for the club, including during City’s title-winning 2022/23 season.

Walsh arrives at Celtic with a wealth of experience in the SWPL and on the European stage.

Speaking on joining the club, Walsh said: "I'm really excited to have joined Celtic! It is obviously a massive club.

'It's somewhere I've been many times as a fan too. So to come in here as a player is pretty cool, and I'm really excited about it.'

"It's a really broad dressing room in terms of age, experience, where players have played and where they are from.

"I'm hoping to come in, and bring what I have experienced before and help as much as I can."

Celtic FC Women Head Coach, Elena Sadiku, added: "Claire is a great addition to us. She has a strong background, both in Scotland and abroad, and brings a great deal of experience and leadership to the squad.

"She’s a player with real quality and we’re really excited to see what she can bring to the team this season."

The signing of Claire Walsh hardly inspirational one. She may be an Irish International, but the 30y.o. joining from Glasgow City, where she was a fringe squad player, making just 10 appearances last season, and we are expected to think she is 100% ready to slot in alongside Kelly Clark at the heart of the defence - a spot that has been a severely weakened one since the departure of Caitlin Hayes, back in January.

Hope it goes well, but the only two signings made this summer - Lisa Robertson and Claire Walsh - are hardly likely to cause too many sleepless nights for any opposition, and furthermore, suggests that the club are in any way serious about trying to reclaim the SWPL title this season.

Not sacking the manager already indicated they are not going to make any attempt other than to make it top 5. It's going to be a * season taking the scraps from Hearts and Glasgow City.
