Missed the last couple of games there putting the wean to bed, but not surprised to come back and see Sinner clinching it. Was pretty obvious all set Alcaraz was getting nowhere near him.

Called it after RG that Sinner would win. His game is great for grass. Well deserved.

Aye Alcaraz had beaten him in the last 5 games but Sinner too much for him today.

This will be a rivalry for the ages this.

Well that'll do. Not watching the pretentious nonsense that is the closing ceremony.

Sinner is very lucky that Dimitrov got injured in their earlier match btw, he was going out if that continued.

Most likely, but wouldn't have betted against Sinner taking that in 5 tbh. Dimitrov would've likely tired.

Sinner could've just as easily exacerbated the elbow issue in that match. Definitely got a stroke of luck there. Fully deserved the final today though.

True but all ifs, buts, and maybes. Think he's a fully deserved winner and again wouldn't have bet against him turning it around against Dimitrov. Takes a lot for the lesser players to win that final set even if they are 2 ahead. Happens a lot

He's definitely a deserving winner today, not his fault Dimitrov got injured, just lucky. Just with the way that match was going and Dimitrov's form, I think he had the beating of Sinner in that match.

He deserved to win the final but fully deserved winner of the whole tournament is a massive stretch given the context.

I mean if not him then who did deserve to win it over the course?

Sinner was unreal when it mattered and reached a level Djokovic and Alcaraz couldn't reach when it mattered.

Alcaraz because he very well could have been playing someone else but for injury.

Have a listen to Sinner post match and you’ll hear him agree.

Was just catching up on the Sinner drug thing there. Was expecting a right dodgy scenario with the way i seen some folk going on about it.

Turns out he had traces of an anabolic steroid in his system, contracted via massages by his physio, who had used an over the counter spray on a cut on his hand.

And this constitutes him being a drug cheat? Really? :giggle1:

They found a billionth of a gram in his system. WADA admitted he had no performance enhancing benefit. The ban was more for the negligence of his team. Anyone calling him a drugs cheat doesn't actually know the facts.

Aye looks to me like common sense prevailed in the end. Think context has to be applied in these cases, this one being a textbook example. Thought it interesting that WADA were the ones pushing for a 2 year ban yet accepted a 3 month agreement in the end. Wouldn't have happened if there was even a hint of foul play.

We will never know but players do come from 2 sets down especially great ones. Edberg did this very thing on his way to winning one of his 2 titles and Sampras was a set down to a certain Australian massive server who was playing his A Game and pulled up injured.
But that said Dimitrov was very unlucky but that is the 5th straight Grand Slam singles tournament that injury has got him.
