I just feel with Trusty we have seen he can actually stand up to the test in Europe. Which is rare to find with a CB.

I think he deserves some more time. He's also got a bit of pace behind him, not rapid, but some. Which we already have very little of

Think the biggest issue for him is concentration in domestic games and taking it too easy as we saw in his performance against Dundee. Definitely deserves another shot ahead of Scales if we don’t get another left sided centre back in.

Then I think you need to progress with him as your No. 1 choice at LCB, which is where he will likely believe he should be. I don't think he would have been happy missing out on the games he did last season and certainly not to someone like Scales(we can debate whether that was justified or not but I don't think there is any scenario, other than resting Trusty, where Scales should be playing ahead of him).

Unfortunately, I think having the likes of CCV, Trusty, De Haas and Youte is likely to lead to players being annoyed by lack of game time. We all say 'there are plenty of games to play so everyone can get their fair share of minutes' but the likes of De Haas and Youte will be sold a dream of taking a step into the Premier League. If you then stop playing them, I think that can lead to bad morale amongst some of them.

That's why I think it's so important to have players like Scales, Ralston, Forrest and McCowan. They're happy with their place in the squad. They're unlikely to be battering down the door of the manager demanding minutes. Aye, they're not the greatest players but that's kinda the point in them.

Crazy to think Trusty had Openda & Sesko in his back pocket. He definitely seems to raise his game for Europe & then domestically he's being rag-dolled by Simon Murray just doesn't make sense.
