Our few links today aren't particularly inspiring..

Liked the sounds De Haas but after watching that video twice, reckon we could get a much better suited centre half..

The boy Ambrosino looks to have something about him but isnt a prolific striker and doesn't look a natural game changing left winger i want either..

The Swede Jansson looks the most promising but again, doesn't look like that first team games changer from the limited video I've seen....yet anyway..

    Hoping for better all round..

Came here to say the same.

Tierney and Nygren aside, it doesn’t feel like we are looking at quality.

My concern is that in the last three derbies, our midfield has been found wanting. So either Rodgers has to change the system or he has to bring in someone to give us the steel and industry we have been missing.

We also haven’t replaced the loss of Kyogo. kvistgaarden would have been a real statement of intent and it’s bitterly disappointing to be losing out on him to Norwich.

It’s early days but the quality of links is a little bit disappointing. We also seem to be targeting areas and players that are a bit further down what I would perceive as our priority?

If Maeda is our striker with Idah and Osmond and second/third choice then we need a first team starting left winger to replace Jota until he’s back and then compete with him. We need a starting right winger to replace Kuhn. To me Nygren we see in a more central attacking position but can cover RW if need be. We then have Forrest as additional cover.

We need a LB cover, we need a dynamic central all action midfielder and we need a CB capable of partnering CCV.

Our other signings apart from Tierney and Nygren are all projects / squad players and those linked don’t scream first team players ready to directly take a place in the first 11.

I’d rather focus all of our efforts for the next 6/8 weeks on a first 11 CB, RW and CM. I’d take 3 genuine first team players in those positions with no other signings over 5/6 squad players with the potential they could start.

Ideally we would also get a LW and LB but if those other 3 positions got quality players we would overall be stronger than last year.

Use the youngsters to provide squad cover and really focus on quality not quantity.

Let frame be the LB understudy to KT if we think he’s good enough. Let Dane Murray be that 4/5th choice squad CB. A little too many links to filler players at the moment, we need game changers to take us up that level from last season.

I think there’s a reason he’s at Norwich. We pulled out early this Summer as did Frankfurt and the other Bundesliga clubs linked, I’m sure there’s a reason.

I think the recent links have been more inspiring than the last, except CB.

Ambrosino, Jansson, backup LB, starting CB, starting MF and a starting RW would be a great end to the window

Kvistgaarden £6.9m to Norwich they knocked back more from us in january.

£6.9m for a guy we have tracked for 2 years. Yet we are now going for a punt from Japan, a Fulham kid and a loan from Italian seria B like what the actual * is going on BTW? See if brendan is leaving next summer and they dont want to back him be honest about it and say!

If Kvistgaarden was available for that I'm sure there's a reason we aren't pursuing.

De Haas, Ambrosino both look like 3rd choice option types. Jansson I like the look of tbh and yet to see more recent footage of him.

I really hope we are going to look at addressing our lack of physicality though. No solid midfielder links yet.

Lets see how he gets on at Norwich. If hes ended up there maybe hes not worth the 12M or whatever they were demanding we pay.

Ambrosino doesn’t have a great record mate. He might have potential, but as things stand, I’m not sure I see him starting ahead of Maeda or Idah. In comparison to Kvistgaarden or strelec, who for me are the level of player we need to be looking at to progress the squad, is not more inspiring for me.

I’m not really blown away by Jansson either. One stand out season at 23 doesn’t warrant a few as high as high a fee as rapid are reportedly looking for. We have chased Orjasaeter and Balikwisha for long enough and they both feel like better options.

De haas doesn’t fill me with a whole lot of confidence either. We have the money to be looking at a better pedigree of player than him and I’m not sure why we are not. The same could be said for Inarmura who we have just signed.

    It feels scattergun.

Strelec, to me, looks like he’d be Idah v2.

Kvistgaarden was someone I’d have loved us to sign, and at the price he’s going for seems cheap.. but there’s surely a reason that us, Frankfurt and others pulled out.

Ambroso, looks like someone with promise that I’d be happy for us to take a low risk loan with option on. He may not have a great record, but he’s highly rated by Napoli fans and been through all the Italian youth ranks. It’s low risk.

I disagree on Jansson too, I think he looks better than all the other wingers we’ve been linked to (who have all been very underwhelming). Balikwisha looks poor and even more injury prone, and Orjasaeter looks okay but the price is high for someone with a fairly poor record in a fairly poor league.

Agree on De Haas. We need a statement signing at CB.

Honestly not that bothered on missing out on Kvistgaarden......was never sure how to pronounce it, and boy would it be hard to rhyme that into a song.....now De Haas that has potential...!?!?

Is it just me who feels to more project type players we sign the more it signals the end of brendan or just paranoid?
