Above is an older video on him, supposedly got a lot better since this was uploaded.

Even in that video you can tell he has a bit about him, looks quick, very direct and good on the ball.

He seems well rated, obviously we still have a few scouts left from Kuhn's transfer.

I'd be happy with this, and it's David Friel reporting it too with the S*n, so there's obviously genuine interest.

I don't think he'd be Kuhn's replacement though, looks like he mostly plays on the left.

CELTIC are eyeing Rapid Vienna winger Isak Jansson.

Boss Brendan Rodgers is on the hunt for new wide men as Nicolas Kuhn heads for Como in a £17million exit.

SunSport understands that £3m-rated Swede Jansson is one of those on Celts’ radar after an impressive campaign.

The 23-year-old joined Rapid as Kuhn’s direct replacement after his Parkhead switch in January 2024.

Jansson has been a standout in the Austrian Bundesliga over the last 18 months, and is now being chased by clubs across Europe.

Lazio, Fiorentina and Ligue 1 new boys Paris FC have all been linked with moves for the Sweden Under-21 cap

Jansson hit nine goals and claimed six assists for Rapid last season as he helped them reach the Conference League quarter-finals.

Celtic boss Rodgers insists it’s vital they get it right by replacing the players they are selling.

Kuhn’s move to Como will be confirmed within days, and the Hoops chief is eager to land reinforcements as quickly as possible, with Jota also out injured until 2026.

Rodgers said: “With the likes of Nicolas, there was interest towards the end of last season. And then that followed through into pre-season.

It’s not just about getting players. We’ve brought in some that can do really well for us, but we hope to do more.

“At this moment, it’s really about getting the team ready and prepared and building the squad.”

Jansson started his career with Swedish minnows Skene IF and Kalmar FF, before moving to Spanish Second Division side Cartagena.

Rapid signed him after his pace and dribbling stats were flagged up by their data analysts

After an initial loan, Jansson moved to Austria permanently last summer for around £200,000.

His value has rocketed, and Rapid admit they will struggle to hold on to him in this window.

Jansson is right-footed and can operate on both flanks, but prefers to play off the left wing.

Speaking recently, he said: “I know there are many teams at our games. I also know the teams that are interested in me and have contacted my agent.

But I feel comfortable in Rapid as I am developing every day.”

33 games last season, 9 goals and 6 assists.

Compare that with Kuhn when we signed him, he had 3 goals and 7 assists in 22 games. So, they’re very similar stats wise, albeit Jansson seems more prolific in front of goal.

Seems like we knew khunn would be gone and had someone very similar but with more heart in the pipeline. Good stuff.

Well if he plays off the left it's not gonna be the Kuhn replacement.

Watching the video and reading his stats from last year he profiles quite like an Abada type winger although only really in his last season.

He is fast, likes to pass and move rather than beat players or run in behind. Given he seems to prefer playing off the left he is often trying to get in to the box more like an inside forward than a winger and get shots off. He does seem a decent finisher based on last season, again similar to Abada.

He isn’t good at taking players on based on his dribbling stats, he does however create chances for team mates I suspect they will largely be like Abada did by getting in behind the full back or in between the full back and centre back and cutting things back rather than through particularly creative passing.

A major difference to Abada is he does prefer to play on the opposite side where Abada was a right footer playing off the right. I actually wonder if he had been available for Rodgers would he have been used more of the left given his preference for his wingers to invert.

I actually don’t think he really profiles all that much like Kuhn who was more creative and as mentioned more like Abada. All be it this is based on one seasons numbers, as before last season he is a bet meh until you get to the 2021 Swedish season where he done ok for Kalmar.

His good form has all come off the left side so we would still need a new right winger if Jansen is signed.
