Rodgers is instantly on the hunt for more recruits with the early deal key as he continued: “Yes, it’s exactly that. I think it really helps us.

"The earlier, the better, really. Because if a player wants to go then I don’t see the point in them hanging about.

“Really, if you can get the deal done and you get the valuation, what you think is right, then do it, move on and look to get the replacements in

I think we’ll always look to improve the squad. There’s money there to bring players in. It’s just that we’re getting the right ones. I’m really excited by this season.”

Celtic will make a huge profit having signed the winger for £3 million and Rodgers continued: “Yeah, and I think that is a part of our script here. Of course, we want to succeed, but a lot of these players come in with the notion that they can develop and improve.

“They’re at a brilliant club, but they get the opportunity to go on and earn three or four times more in salary and that’s something that will always be a challenge for the likes of ourselves.”

Seems a bit of a stretch, but guess time will tell.

Think it may be a case of getting the wage bill low enough to start adding the couple of big hitters that we want. Moving out your Lagerbeilke's, Nawrocki's, selling Kuhn etc should see things start moving. Got a feeling we will have a really big signing coming/negotiated in the next week or so.

Ideally we want our new signings ASAP.. preferably for the trip to Como..well, hopefully at least another 2

LB, CB, DM, Wingers x2 and another ST unless one if the wingers can play centrally.

A lot of work to be done, ins and outs.. before our CL qualifier..

    Please be ready Celtic

Nothing new, he said months ago he will get 3 or 4 in the door but if any key players leave he’ll need to get more.

It’s always been our model but at least now its early in the window and we’re not scrambling for a replacement.

Thing with big signings, they mostly happen when your guaranteed champions league football purely as a bargaining chip to get them. Thats what they want to play in. So unfortunately that's when I think that'll happen.

For those who are in love.....
We've made some good signings already, some very smart and excellent ones as well..

We've effectively got 2 months til the window shuts, are only losing 1 first team player at present....plus getting the deadwood out. It has to be starters now, or pushing really close..

With Inamura going on loan, maybe we'll sign a young type option who can play centre half, as well as someone to really compete with Carter-Vickers..

Centre half (at least 1 of quality)
    A centre mid
Wingers (2 minimum, maybe 3 and 1 that can play up top)

LW to replace Maeda if now striker
    LW to replace Yang

Replace one of the wingers with a striker if Maeda isn't gonna be a primary striker.

Personally I'd still like a striker.

2 months to get 7 players that I'd want. As well as plenty others going out still.

Hopefully Yang is added to that short list. I know he’s only been here one season but, I’d empty Trusty if anyone would come close to paying the alleged £6 million we paid for him.

When asked about a replacement CB for those departing he said

“I always look from within,” he told CeltsAreHere. “Obviously, we have Dane here. We’ve got Auston. We’ve got Scales. I think we’ll definitely look to bring in another one. But I would always look for our own first. Hopefully, if Dane can stay fit and be available, then he’s one that can be in and around it.”

We better spend some serious money this Summer.

Squad is looking paper thin at the moment and I haven't been all that impressed with the calibre of player we've been linked with.

Brendan Rodgers has revealed he may turn to Celtic’s academy rather than the transfer market to help plug the gap left by departing defenders Maik Nawrocki and Gustaf Lagerbielke – a move that will no doubt leave some fans uneasy ahead of a demanding season.

The manager’s comments came after Friday night’s pre-season win over Queen’s Park, with Rodgers naming Dane Murray as a player he’s considering for increased first-team involvement.

I always look from within,” he told CeltsAreHere. “Obviously, we have Dane here. We’ve got Auston. We’ve got Scales. I think we’ll definitely look to bring in another one. But I would always look for our own first. Hopefully, if Dane can stay fit and be available, then he’s one that can be in and around it.”

Murray, still only 22, has endured a stop-start career since his promising breakthrough. He made his Champions League qualifier debut under Ange Postecoglou and was seen as a future first-team regular. However, repeated injury setbacks have stalled his development

With Nawrocki set for a move to Hannover and Lagerbielke also heading for the exit, the pressure is now on Celtic’s recruitment team to find a dependable defender. Rodgers says one more will come in, but given the club’s ambitions, particularly in Europe, it’s a call that needs to be spot-on.

What has he actually said there? Dane will get a chance if he can stay fit, he will defo bring in another defender and scales trusty and ccv are there already. Hardly anything we didn't already know

He has said we will look to bring in one and if Murray can stay fit he can be part of it. I’d be happy at that.

I am hoping on the chat of academy boys getting a chance that Mitchell Frame does.

Unlike a lot of our academy boys I believe he has the physical attributes to play first team football, he is very quick and has a decent build for a 19 year old. He did very well up against Feyenoord and their right back was a unit and winger was quick and tricky.

It would be good to see one of our own stake a claim for a squad place at least.
