We have done well so far with who we have got in up to this point and getting the Kuhn business done early gives us time to get in other targets.

I think we will definitely get in a wide player now to strengthen that area. But my concern is that we wont look to strengthen anywhere else and will instead rely on guys like Idah, Trusty and Bernardo to have stronger seasons instead of adding quality competition.

 

I think we will get another CB now we have some cash to spare, I have a feeling Trusty will be off, maybe to the MLS ?.

Bernado can still come good I think, he links up well with Idah in the same team, I think if we get the midfield sorted out, and by that I mean a powerful CDM, then players like Engels, McCowan and Bernado will be able to express themselves better. I reckon Rodgers now knows we need a powerhouse CDM, given what happened last year in certain games, and I'm confident we will get one.

Without trying to state the obvious too much, this summer is * huge now.

Our attacking options for the next 6 months are Maeda, Idah, Osmand, Forrest, Yang and Nygren.

One of them is definitely good enough to start week in week out. The others (Nygren aside) definitely aren’t.

In the attacking area alone we need 3 more signed. If Maeda is the striker, then two first choice wingers and another, even on loan, as cover. If Maeda is a winger, then a first choice striker and winger, with another winger on loan.

On top of that a ready made CB, backup LB, and ready made midfielder.

Lots to do.

 

If ever a refresh was needed, it’s this summer. The squad is stale and lacking real dynamism, creativity and power.

Said it before, but we lack proper pace and power all over the pitch. With Kuhn gone, if Maeda gets injured then we’d be reliant on our injury prone left back to provide any real thrust in our attack.

It's because it's Groundhog day. We've seen this all before. When was the last window when the majority of fans said "yeah, we've filled the positions that needed filling and with quality too"? It's not hard to work out what the first 11 and the squad in general needs but this has been the case for a number of transfer-windows now and we keep ending up frustrated with a squad high in numbers but short on quality. KT is a good addition, an improvement. Nygren we don't know yet but looks good on paper so fingers crossed. The others, Inamura, Osmand and Yamada (if the rumour is true) have squad-filler written all over them and don't inspire confidence in what we're trying to bring-in this summer.
