Got two match play fixtures this weekend. One in 38mph gusts forecast on friday and the other in 31 degree heat Sunday evening.

There's my excuses lined up already

Definitely need an alternative tee shot club when driver isn't the play. Mine is my 5 wood or 7 wood depending on the situation. Tighter dispersion on those clubs makes the hole a lot more playable even from further back.

Can work the other way on long 4s or par 5s though, as murph said if you're not committed it can still go to *.

I had to play on Monday night in 40mph gusts don't mind a strong breeze but that was unplayable at times. i walked off on Friday after 15holes just to hot then the gourock open on sat same conditions but very humid, pishing rain on Sunday and high winds Monday, golf in Scotland eh

Suppose its the same for my opponents as well but as the higher handicapper in the match and only played consistently for 2 years I imagine they'll fair better in extreme conditions than myself.

I'm also a wuss when it comes to heat :giggle1:

Yeah that's true sometimes it can make you play a bit more conservative, more lay ups that going for the big hits into the green, I just can't keep it low so wind affects everything I hit, my wee baby fade turn into a big slice more often than not

I’d say the opposite mate. The strong wind can be a leveller at times. A very good player can be made to look very average in strong winds. You’ll be fine.
