    It's a bit of a weird one.

But if true, we will soon find out the plans.

Seemingly Yamada has played briefly on the wing and attacking midfield.

Aye if we sign Yamada then Osmand is going on loan. No chance we bring him up from PL2 and have him playing lowland league football..

I'd be pretty confident a player of his quality could get a move to a Dundee or Motherwell and get a lot of game time..

We aren't carrying 4 strikers, unless Maeda goes (and Yamada doesn't look good enough to be our number 1, same as Idah, so we'd be spending big on another striker)....or we punt Idah and Yamada becomes the backup choice (which also isn't happening)..

Not sure what to make of that if true. No doubt early days, but doesn't help matters when it seems we're gonna lose Khun as well.

Can't help but feel the suits are hedging their bets around Europe again. Big July coming up.

They may be mate, just because they aren’t announced don’t mean they aren’t done. That happened with Maeda I think it was where he was paid before June 30 but confirmed after Iwata possibly too.

I wouldn’t imagine the two of them together will cost more than £2.5m. Takai who is seen as a massive talent is only costing £5m to Spurs.

Do we definitely see Osmand as a striker, o have see suggestions he has also played as an attacking midfielder 10 type?

If that’s Osmand and the 2 Japanese boys coming in the door can’t see Rodgers being that happy. 3 project signings for me….

Fair enough if it’s Osmand for Kenny.
But the 2 lads from Japan?

Getting rid of the dross (about 8-9 players in that) and adding 3-4 real bits of quality (not including KT) is what’s needed imo.

Willing to give the lads a chance and hope to * they prove me wrong but would be surprised if even 2 out of 3 of them hit the ground running.

He only came good last season.
He was hit and miss for first season.
This is way every club is run. Taking chance on project and with bit work hopefully they come good

Maeda was one of the standout players in Japan to be fair. Hatate and Kyogo too.

We seem to have gone from targeting the standout players e.g. Takai who's away to Spurs, to more random punts. Yamada was a standout last year mind. But Inamura is 100% a punt akin to Kwon imo.

One or two of these is OK now and again but we don't want to get into a position where we just build deadwood again.

I would agree as well with @mayo that Rodgers probably hasn't had a huge hand in these. Which would concern me. I know he doesn't hand pick targets most of the time but this seems like two club choices that he's being given. Could be wrong. Hopefully am.

    takai would been ange signing
I say wages is reason he away spurs
We were probably after him too but he choose spurs over us I say.
We probably targeting players under 10k a week in wages and if don’t work out. They not huge outlay every year in wages

Maeda was one of the standout performers in the league, top scorer of I’m not mistaken and a full international.
This giving me more Oh (I know different league) and Kobayashi vibes.

Don’t mind a project but don’t want too many of them. We desperately need 3-4 players of real quality and squad is already big enough.

Don’t think he was standout player that year.
We only target him cause ange had signed him and knew him well

You can spread the cost of the player over the length of their contract (up to 5 seasons), so if signed now you could spread over 5 years even if on a 4 year contract. In theory paying some off in 24/25 could be beneficial for next season where you can spend only 70% on transfer fees, agents fees and player salaries.

He definitely was, he scored 23 in 2021 and was the league's joint top scorer.
