YouTube reels can be unreliable, but it’s usually bc they oversell how good someone is. I don’t think I’ve seen a clip of this guy going past someone. Lots of stuttering as if a move is coming, and then there’s just a cross. The Norwegian kid looks much more exciting.

Just my opinion but I don't think it will be strictly 4-2-3-1 but more a 4-3-3 with McGregor sitting, Nygren plus one of Hatate or Engels as the 8's. Nygren drifting right as O'Riley used to and Hatate drifting left (as Hatate used to!). Nygren being the more advanced of the 2.

I want both given Jota being injured but can't see it unless Maeda is staying as ST with Idah and Osmand. Then we surely will sign two, them being Bali and Orja.

Same. No just doesn't seem natural and sort of bobbles off an opponent trying to cut back on to his right..

Orjasaeter skins people for fun, either way, at pace, as well as carrying the ball. Low blocks he rinses 2 or 3 men at times and has the skill and composure to take it on long runs in to space..

Aye, I'm all in on him big time if you haven't already guessed :giggle1:

He's quick enough, two footed with exciting dribbling skills.

Scores goals, is feisty and crosses a great ball, just what your man Idah needs.

Not for me. Think money can be better spent elsewhere.

Just a personal opinion on players coming and going. KT and AJ are 1st choice full backs and the overlapping ones.

Osmand, can play centrally and out left. Nygren can play up top, out wide and the 10. Have been linked with a few DMFs as well. Cal is now 32, cant cover the pitch like he used to and certainly not for 60 games. So may move him further forward in to his far better position, than sitting. We all know what Daizen can do. Rodgers just likes the versatility

Reckon the games against the huns have been a jolt to Rodgers thoughts as well. The tide had turned in these games where we struggled.

We are probably gonna get him for about 3-4m. In that price bracket I think he's well worth a shot tbh. Won the Belgian league, decent stats at a good level, attributes we lack in the team at the moment, former Belgian U21. You're gonna do well at that price to find better on paper, at least.

Have some reservations myself and wouldn't have wanted us to pay 8-10m for him but at half of that..aye definitely.

Plus he wants to come here and the club should know him inside out by now. Need to trust it.

On the topic of youtube clips, as much as I love them myself, ye can't really take a huge amount about a players allround ability. The fact his isn't exactly astounding doesn't worry me.

Reading through the Kwon thread earlier and loads of folk thought he looked amazing...if you watched Inamura as well you'd think he was the best ball playing CB in the world.

Orjasaeter certainly looks a bit faster and more direct, though. That's evident.

This guy reminds me of Sinclair.

You might be right. I'm not blown over by his stats and a mixture of that and his youtube clips make me think he's not much better than what we have. Seems a bit slow-paced and lacking in dynamism. If he comes in as a backup to Jota, fair enough I suppose.

    Would much, much rather Orjasaeter.

    Time will tell mate.

He's certainly better than Yang and Tilio and I'd like to think less greedy than Palma in his approach.

So even if he improved the overall squad at less than £5m that's good for us.

Aye, if we (somehow) manage to shift Yang and Tilio for something like £3-5m and bring him in for the same fee, we'll be doing well. Disappointing thing for me is if we go for him it means in all likelihood we won't pursue Orjasaeter.

I dunno I think it depends on where we see Maeda in future.

I have a feeling we want both. Or at least another 2 wingers after Nygren.

Balikwisha can also play as a 10 type attacking midfielder and actually played a lot of the games this season post injury there for Antwerp where he put up decent numbers.

If Kuhn is the only starter from our front line I could see us sign

    - Nygren for RW/AM
    - Balikwisha LW/AM
    - Orjasaeter LW
    - New RW (likely younger player or a loan as Jota cover)
    - Osmand ST/AM/LW

    Then have

    - Maeda ST/LW/RW
    - Idah ST
    - Jota (when fit RW/LW)
    - Forrest RW occasionally

Sell Kuhn, Yang, Tilio, Palma, Kenny (possibly loan)

As others have said, this guy is simply not stirring the blood at all. Injury prone and mediocre stats too.

Orjasaeter is the right choice, surely?

Depends. I prefer chances created vs assists. You could assist 20 goals by having a deadly striker putting the only 20 chances created away. However you could create 400 chances and have a celtic striker missing 395 of them giving the poor lad only 5 assists.

Most Antwerp fan comments I've seen say about the same " good stamina, better defensively than attacking , very inconsistent, never takes his man on or shoots".

Come on you Bhoys in Green
Quinny from Celts are here described him as a 'Maeda' type of attacker who is decent at pressing, quick (Not rapid) & decent technically but not great.
