Aye he'd excel in Italy and certainly for Napoli. That would give them a midfield trio of O'riely, McTominay and Gilmour? interesting

If we have a sell-on fingers crossed it's on the total sale and not % of profit.

It was rumoured we had a 10% sell on, if it’s as low as that I would expect we would have wanted that on full fee.

If ever a player was suited to continental football it's the bold Matt. Absolute Rolls Royce of a player in his pomp.

Celtic look set for a bumper payday if Matt O'Riley makes a move to Napoli after a bid was reportedly made by the Italian champions.

The Hoops have already seen the Parkhead coffers boosted this summer by a sell-on windfall after Jeremie Frimpong's move to Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen.

And the extra cash looks set to flood into Celtic Park after Napoli made their move for the Danish international.

Sky Sports report that the Serie A winners have tabled a £25.6million (€30million) offer to the Premier League side just 12 months on from his £25million Scottish Premiership exit.

It is claimed that talks are ongoing over the "package" the Seagulls would receive for O'Riley - who is still seen as "an important part of their project".

However, it is claimed they will "entertain offers" if "they meet their valuation" with Atalanta and Roma among the midfielder's admirers, while Premier League sides are also said to be monitoring the 24-year-old's status.

It is understood that Celtic hold a 10 per cent sell-on clause in the deal - which is Napoli's offer was accepted would see just over £2.5million head to Glasgow's east end.

But given the offer is the same Brighton paid for the Denmark star, it’s likely the fee – and therefore sell-on clause – will climb.

O'Riley endured an injury-hampered debut campaign at the AMEX Stadium but showed flashes of his best form in the final weeks of the season.

But the man himself has bemoaned the fact he's been unable to play in his favoured position under head coach Fabian Hurzeler - with Georginio Rutter deployed in the playmaker role.

Speaking in his homeland, the Denmark international said: "I am not completely happy, and I am just giving my opinion.

It makes it difficult to show off when you play a position you are not completely happy with. I can play better for the team if I play the number eight position, but I can play well in other positions.

"You can say it in a way that is not aggressive. If you are honest with another person, you don’t lose anything. The coach can always say he doesn’t agree."

That would be some midfield depth for Napoli and probably a good move for O’Reilly. Not sure he’d give up on Brighton so quickly though.

Would be a great move for him but would he play ahead of De Bruyne and McTominay? I get moving to Roma, to be fair.

10% is lower than I expected.

Think Roma or Atalanta would be a better move for game time. But they won't pay as much as Napoli.

If its 10% on profit, we won't see much at all from the deal.

Think they might end up moving Gilmour on. Wasn’t favoured as much this season

De Bruyne is obviously still class but the legs are going a bit..

O’Riley grafts like * which Conte will absolutely love, as well as being technically very good..

They'll have serie a and champions league so he'll get loads of game time. I'm sure he'd end up a starter over there more often than no..

Gilmour was a bit part player for them , done fairly well and is fairly well regarded but didn't start that many games. With KDB and potentially MOR going in there they might move the little hun on.
