What a carry on before a game. Modern football is often already really annoying for me but this is a farce.

So Saudi have pumped a billion into this tournament, is this some sort of roundabout way for the "elite" clubs who have felt the constraints of PSR/FFP in recent years to get the extra money they need from this conveniently quickly assembled together tournament to then splash the cash that they want on players fees and wages without having to feel the penalty repercussions of PSR/FFP?

Its remarkable looking at the host countries for tournaments as of late.

    Qatar
    Saudi Arabia
    USA
    Russia

Its so obvious that it is only tyranicall countries that gets to host it. My prediction is that Israel host it soon.

I've tried catching as much of this tournament as I can, but it's painful at times.
One or two decent games, that's it.

Attendances I expected to be * and will pick up when the later games roll around and it's psg-city type matches.
The final will be a sell out I imagine.

But for fifa, they really ought to have held this in a more football focused country initially.
It's a revamp of the old club world cup, but the format and dates have obviously changed and FIFA want to push it big time. Should have held it in Europe or at least south America to get the fans more instantly on board.

USA, not the biggest of football countries and currently being boycotted by 2/3s of the world population, stupid * idea.

Should note, the euro u19 and u21 tournaments are on currently as well, much more entertaining to watch and a wee snippet in to the future of the game.

U19 still in the group stages and the u21 are quarter finals this weekend. Think the final of the u21 is next weekend.

Should fill the time better before getting to the crunch games of the club world cup.

Madrid game was a brilliant game so that can’t be true. Was very surprised to see how good the football was that Al hilal played. That Saudi centre half tombakti looks a player.

also that 21 year old ST from the B team they’ve promoted was unreal too. Can see alonso trusting in him this year

It is true. The atmosphere was *, almost every fan of the few that are there with their phones out, the build up was ridiculous and you can tell the main players don't really want to be playing.

That nonsense at the start of games, introducing the players 1 by 1 to a * non-existant crowd... it's the absolute opposite of the stuff fitba fans want, it's pure Americanised pish.

Prolly why the American Football fans spend their time eating BBQ and getting shitfaced at tailgate parties in the parking lot until the games start.

I'm sure there are loads of passionate north American fans and groups, but the set up of this tournament is really off-putting. Only tuned in a few times cos of the lack of football but I'd prefer to do without or follow the 21s tournament instead.

Atmosphere and set up you’re right was *. The football on show wasn’t.

it was put in America to appease the big bosses and get the underhand $$$. But seeing some of the teams on show that wouldn’t usually be easy to watch; river plate, boca, even Al hilal after yesterday is refreshing I think. Those South American teams still play with aggression and physicality which is becoming none existent in European football. Good to watch in my opinion.

couldn’t care less about what the crowd looks like if I’m sat in my house watching the tv haha
